Spice grinder worth it?

yeah it is a waste of time, it have more down side than up side, the time wasted to farm seed and grind spice is quite equal to the time saved by skill point bonus, and if you convert them right, not using spice actually give more exp for needed job as the work time is longer.

 

Nice! Was still broken when I tried it, but if really makes food keep forever in a fridge then this actually justifies the effort. Not OP though, Berry Sludge is not hard to make and also keeps forever and without any requirements like being in a fridge.

Worth is a factor you always have to define for yourself. 

For me: The whole new Update is worthless. Why? Because nothing in there i ever asked for, and i do not need anything for it. Do i complain? No, not at all. I wish everyone else as much fun with it as they can possibly have. 

I find slug morphs super cool and their extended diet very much needed.

Kitchen was long requested, and it's good to have it, even if it wouldn't have any bonus effect.

Spices and stories are nice additions but I agree those have little impact on the game balance. I am super excited for future story traits, I hope they will encourage for space exploration and colonization more

The fact i do not need the update is, because i´ve come around with solutions for all of this already with some mods. 

I use a fridge-mod that stops the stuff from spoiling at all.

I use a rooms-mod that give me so much more rooms to play with. 

Yeah its nice they build it into the base game. But i had no need for that anymore.

I understand your possition, but I'd say it's good that devs sometimes get inspired by mods and implement them to the game if they are good. IMO mods should be required only if a player wants some wacky changes to their game, and any mod that seamlessly adds features that the game needs should be treated as an experiment to check if those ideas are good and implemented to the game if they are.

What I mean is that the game should be great without any mods. Players should not need to use mods to add missing QoL, features, performance improvements etc. Ofc I don't blame the devs that such mods exist - as I said, those are great experiments to see what the game really needs.

So in the end I am really happy that devs implemented the Kitchen, even if it already was in the mods, it still a great step foward and many people who don't like playing with mods will now have access to it.

I wish more great mods were incorporated to the game soon :)

Yeah sometimes i feel that when i come up with an interesting idea to add something to the gameplay it`s already done via mods and ppl say the devs shouldn`t bother. But i feel that basic qol stuff should be in the base game. Updates shouldn`t be just focused on adding big flashy stuff but also adress some annoyances.

Yeah, they're great. Until a loose sponge slug starts injecting polluted water into your petroleum line. Don't let your slugs get loose. On the other hand, once you tap a metal volcano, you ranching them for power is viable, so that's nice.
