Before Wickerbottom rework arrives, please add this thing.

Recommended Posts

So Wickerbottom rework adds a bunch of other things to other characters too yadda yadda yadda.

If you have played Wortox before, like even once, you accidentally soul hopped right? Please, add a button that temporarily disables Wortox' soul hopping. Like any key on your keyboard.

I'm tired of accidentally soul hopping trying to do simple tasks or in a hurry. I don't want to waste souls when I'm trying to click one of those small hitbox structures on my boat, or trying to open a chest, or die trying to pick something up when running away from shadow monkeys.

Especially now that souls are more valuable we should get this feature. It is not a buff, not a nerf, not a rework. Just a basic QoL thing that likely takes only a few lines of scripting and I believe it is neccessary.

Wgile you wait for them to add it (or not), the Advanced Controls mod has this as a feature for you to use in the meantime.

It even allows you to control the delay on how quickly you need to press before you telepoof/soul hop.

I use the lowest setting of 0.3.

This would be great on xbox because the cursor to teleport is always present and the button used for teleporting is use for tons of other stuff. Also teleporting on xbox in general sucks real bad so if that could be changed too it would be appreciated.

Isn't soul hop on right click?

Soul Hop is B- and you don’t even have to be highlighting your souls in your inventory to trigger the Hop effect, B Also turns on/off a lantern.. Wortox could use some QoL tweaks, not buffs.. not nerfs.. just make it so if I want to toggle on my lantern and I’m not selecting souls in my inventory- that I don’t end up soul hoping away from my lantern and dying in the dark.

In addition to that, I also suggest a force soul hop button, perhaps a shift + right click.

When there are a lot of trees and stuff around, sometimes it's hard to soul hop because the cursor keeps selecting those stuff around, with a force button, if the cursor is targeting a tree, it will hop under the tree or near it, making it a lot more convenient to use for battle and traversing. (can also target self to get the hop i-frames without changing position)

yeh but this mod also adds a lot of other features that player might not want to have

I disable all the other features since in that mod, I only use three features.

Still, it is a feature we should have by default already. It has been at least 2 years since Wortox ate that Kramussy. Souls are now valuable as never before yet we can not use them in comfort.

If they add, then sure, it'd be great. I just remember complaining something similar about it a long time ago and I got a working as intended as a reply, hence why I suggested the mod.

Middle mouse scroll wheel click. It's used for nothing and miss-clicking it would be a lot less likely. For extra insurance, you could have that as the set active/inactive button for Wortox's soul hopping as well as the Lazy Explorer. then you would need to middle-mouse click and then right click in order to telepoof/soul hop or to disable the ability. It would be active by default when you equip the explorer for example, or you could have a variable per player that caches teleportation as enabled disabled. For clarity, your cursor could also show you visually that clicking middle mouse button also can enable/disable that action, something that a lot of actions actually need to have so people know the controls without looking at the control menu to learn them. Simple yet intuitive.
