Wolfgang's form changing makes me go insane

I really hate mechanic of Wolfgang getting stunned for a second when changing his form, it was a little bit annoying before rework but for me became a real issue after rework and after QoL.I hit spiders?Wolfgang gets mighty, stunned for a second, got hit.I mine rocks?Wolfgang becomes mighty at the end, loses mighty form after few seconds, making me lose time.Im trying ocean fishing?Wolfgang changes his form and i lose both fish but also my equipment.I ride a beefalo?Wolfgang changes his form making me stop for a second.I attack as beefalo?Wolfgang gets mighty(yep, attacking as beefalo makes you gaing mightyness), i get stunned for a second and get hit.Pls for the love of god Klei make Wolfgang form changing work like Wanda's, with sounds and effect but without getting damn stunned for a second.

That’s one of his downsides. I’d advise you to be topped off on mightiness before fighting and keep hunger above 149. Mightiness management is the price you pay for his conditional 2x damage, increased gathering efficiency, and not being slown down by body slot items that normally would.

That, or swap to someone else.

I don't, i got riding one, but when i need to kill someone small with beefalo like spider or bat that just follows me it's sooo annoying

Same. I got so tired of it, I finally quit playing a 500+ day game.

Getting hit once isn't much of a downside. It's just annoying, like Wagstaff. I think going down should keep the animation since that can sometimes actually lead to bad situations like deranking while fleeing from shadow splumonkeys, but it is so dumb to be rewarded for doing what you're supposed to by taking damage or crashing your boat (you can become mighty from the second pull of a mast and it doesn't raise).

The V1 and V2 Wolfgang reworks have been a ride. Starting off by making him a chore by adding "realism" and then making him easier by introducing press the action key to gain mightiness in V2. But hey, I don't mind if they make my favorite boss killer a little easier.

I don't like this trend of adding "realism" to the characters. It either leads to a smorgasbord of nonsense perks (Walter likes trees because scouts... okay) or, in the case of the combat specialist Wolfgang, also makes him a decent miner/chopper/sailor/carrier. So the character that some people called "OP" is now even better.

It's like if they added sanity gain from reading player-made signs to Wicker because "she likes reading". It's just... yuck.

Notable

1) Fishing - this is a good point.  Perhaps they should freeze mightiness while fishing b/c this is just a bad interaction.  Its not easy to drain your might all the way just to fish.

2) quick changes - Something that has been asked for through *nearly all* wolfgang discussions is to desync the point at which he gains and loses forms.  Like right now you gain / lose might at 75 which can lend its self to see-saw form changes.  Desyncing would adjust the thresholds so going up would take a bit more mighty, and going down would take less.  I can see how this might be a bigger change to the system since "wolfgang at x mighty" could be either form based on whether they are gaining or losing... but it could easily be accomplished by just giving him 5 bonus might when he goes up, and deducting 5 might when going down?

OH GOD YES THIS.  ALL OF THIS.

I've said exactly the same thing (well not in the same words) multiple times.  I've been mocked and told "just stay full all the time bro, like what are you, a scrub?"
"Keep track of his mightiness at all times and eat at the right moment and it won't take you by surprise" What is this, MATH?  Also I literally can't hover my cursor over his stomach bar to see the exact number AND use it to click on things occasionally at the same time, anyway.  Also also, usually this bites me (literally) when a hound attack pops up when I'm away from base, and if you try to eat something _when the dogs are already there_, well, they bite you halfway through THAT animation and you don't even get the food benefit.

It's THE.  ONLY.  THING.  I hoped they would change when he finally got his remake.

They didn't, so I'm STILL not playing Wolfgang.  Even if you don't actually die from the cheap stun-hit that mobs can get on you, that transformation slowdown is jolting.  as.  sh*t.   I GET downsides that make the character harder to play.  I do.  I encourage that (in general), in fact.  I don't want overpowered Mary Sues/Gary Stu's, that's boring.

What I don't like are downsides that ANNOY THE LIVING SNOT OUT OF THE ACTUAL PLAYER, IRL.

So, yeah, I guess I'm just absolutely never going to be a Wolfgang player. (Except those times I played as him in the Forge to be the group's tank, because his size-changing thing doesn't happen in the Forge.)

I can't really say I enjoy it but this was always his biggest downside.

I think it's alright overall, kinda part of his gameplay to be aware of transformations. But there are situations where it feels useless and just an annoyance, like when fishing or carrying large statues, no Idea why carrying heavy objects isn't increasing the might meter as it's literally heavy work.

While it doesn't increase the might meter, it does freeze it while carrying heavy stuff like statues and nuts.

it does freeze I know but it's still a problem that it doesn't gain imo.
