Why is Wonkey considered a monster?

Recommended Posts

Wonkey is basically a new (albeit quite boring) character. Unfortunatelly it suffers from the 'monster tag' syndrome which ruins the fun of being able to farm pigskin or use bunnymen.

Funnily enough the powder monkeys themselves are not attacked on sight by pigmen or bunnymen.

I get it, it's supposed to be a curse, but some people might want to actually play as Wonkey and being unable to utilize followers isn't really an interesting or original downside at this point.

I think it's because Wonkey itself has been made from the Wortox model, so the tag just "stayed" there due to lack of time/polishing, which is fair, I mean they are dealing with a lot of crashes in this beta and other gamebreaking things.

I have nothing against it being tagged as a monster in the final product though, as long as they eventually change the other ash monkeys to also be at war with merms, pigmen and bunnymen. They are interdimensional monkeys after all, so they could look too "alien" for the local sentient species.

I always thought the reason why they attacked players was because the powder monkeys are known as pirates, who wouldn't miss the chance to raid you and steal your loot, hence why I think bunnyman are neutral to splumonkeys but not Wonkey since he looks very similar to the pirates. (Its strange for Bunnyman/Pigman to be aggressive towards Wonkey but are land dwelling creatures, especially since bunnyman are neutral to splumonkeys but know the horrors they sometimes create)

Wonkey doesn't actually have the 'monster' tag, they specifically put checks for pigs and bunnyman for Wonkey's unique tag so it is currently intentional as far as I can see.

Def weird design choice that they dont attack powder monkies though.

If nothing else bunnymen and merms specifically should be hostile to them being mobs known for carrying items on them heck they can even steal fish out of merm's inventories and specifically target them to do so.

No Merms shouldn't.

Merms are teritorial but not hostile to beings that are "different".

To non pigs they are only hostile when provoked (either trespassing on their home or attacked - and yet they stop being territorial aswell when they have a King) and it should stay that way.

Stop trying to turn Merms into biggots like those filthy Pigmen who attack everything that doesn't look right :3
