Critters less "anoying"

Its too late to add sugestions to this beta i guess, but maybe for some another future one? 

Critters are lovely, and they are just cosmetic. I want to suggest to increase the hunger cooldown or tweak it in some way that make them less dependant. I think most people dont use them because they scream so frequently.

I have a idea, hungry Critters should have a tendecy(%) to bite/annoy other creatures that in turn can(and will) go hostile to players for a duration. But it must happen rarely, so can not be exploited. But should also always be a possibility so we are on our toes to feed them.

And thus no one would ever bother with the Critter den pets ever again if this was a feature.

Imagine for example being Wurt dying to your own Merms cause your little abomination got the munchies and bit one of them in the leg ^^

either make them have use beyond some niche wolfgang sanity buff and a bit of light on one of them to justify feeding or make them purely cosmetic

i get the game is called dont starve but if chester, hutch, glommer and woby dont need to be fed i dont see why critters do

So far niche uses for critters:
Sanity for Wolfgang;
Bonus light (mothling or feeding them glowberries);
...And uh, rot dumpster.
And other things:
Feeding them with goodie food prevents them from losing trait. Forever.
Usually plump one last the longest between when need to feed.

Usually when I want a break from my Vargling, I go boating and push it out of my boat... (yeah, evil me).
I would actually love if they got any minigames, like carrat races. Just because how boring can be game at 1500+ day.
Would be great if they got a bit more use, but I don't really have any idea how they could help in survival side.
Thy could get better petting animation, right now doesn't feel like that at all (characters on them are doing crafting anim. But, beefalos got "/pet" and "/bigpet" anims and it looks and feels so great)

as Wx you can teleport then with a telelocator staff to get overcharge without waiting a bird to land
