[Suggestion] Refuelable Lazy Forager

Been suggested for a very long time and the item needs it desperately. Just like the magiluminesence before it came refuealable people don't use this item for it's main purpose because it's way too expensive to maintain. In order to consistently use this item you need to spam ruins materials and it simply isn't worth the cost to keep crafting. Allowing it to be refuelable with nightmare fuel gives it the boost it needs for players to use it without needing to raid the ruins constantly just get the materials to use this item.

@Ohan had an idea where it becomes inert on breaking and can be repaired by socketing a new orange gem in. I like that idea way better, orange gems have little to use them for while nightmare fuel is one of the most used item in the game.

Nothing stops klei from also making other orange gem sinks, like making the Lazy Deserter usable in solo periodically fueled by oranges.

IMO make it so you can use an orange gem as well for an instant refill, same with yellow gem on mag. Then you can use them as superfuel when they build up too much.

i think the lazy forager definitely deserves to be more powerful, but i think id be a bit sad if it became another item that you craft once and then sink nightmare fuel into forever. id also prefer a buff to durability and maybe speed? maybe have it prioritize items farther from the player so you can hold spacebar to pick up things at the same time as the forager

I would say a mix of Cheggf’s and Arubaro’s ideas would be my preference: boost the durability, and allow it to be refueled with orange gems (since while orange gems can get abundant, they quickly won’t be if you need an orange gem every 225 items you pickup : P ). 
 

My problem is even if the forager was buffed, it innately suffers from the fact it’s a chest slot item and it’s designed to pick items up. That means unless you are close to an area to drop off items, you would still need to frequently make return trips that you would save by just wearing a backpack or better, which doesn’t degrade. As a result, I really only use this if I need to pick up select items and not every item at once. It’s decent for that aspect, but I don’t think it was designed for just that in mind.

I really like both the idea of refueling it with orange gems and nightmare fuel. It not breaking at low durability would also be neat, but I can absolutely see why that might not get added, so an increase in durability would probably make a lot of sense as well.C

Here's another idea I've had for it as well (less durability related and moreso utility):

Instead of picking up items around you individually it just picks them all up at once and you can maybe insert an item to act as a filter of sorts (so this way if you wanted to filter specific items you wouldnt need to fill your whole inventory). Could make large scale gathering a bit simpler and in my opinion it would put the item more in line with other ancient items in terms of usefulness.

the forager is good as it is, it just needs to pickup items much faster and maybe have better durability. its supposed to be an expensive utility item but it only saves you one minute or two in the grand scheme of things

 

it should not be refuable, there are already too few recipes exclusive to the ancient station
