Sure, 1-2 more quest-oriented NPCs, akin 1-2 new thematic islands out there on Constant's ocean, would do fine I reckon. 1 of them NPCs, as per poll, could be mobile, perhaps following player(s) to assist in certain situations, be it mundane or specific combat-oriented, guiding etc. Not intrusive, as to be in-tune with the Survival-Sandbox (free actions) template of DS/T. Yet, yes, I for one would fancy 1-2 new NPCs.

Playing Hamlet really makes me wish there could be certain biomes in the game that function like an actual little town. It doesn't even have to be super beneficial. Like pig king area and pig villages just seem so boring and bland. Im down for making the game feel more immersive.

I don’t think a game about “Uncompromising Wilderness Survival” should suddenly become cluttered with interactive NPC’s that make you feel comfortable & safe around them, I mean- Hamlet had an entire civilized Pigman city, but even then… you had very little interaction with them.

I would probably dare I say “HATE” Don’t Starve Together if it was to stray too far away from DS/Shipwrecked/Hamlet.

the reason i said yes is that i want to have the togetherness it's called don't starve together not don't starve alone and sometimes together.

i want to have more of them as a species because i want to see what other of the same species look like and how they behave.

and how is the npc's different from the rest and how important the npc's are to their community?

The togetherness of NPC is the reason why I like the idea of them in the first place, I would like Klei to explore more on the possibility that an NPC could have like maybe one of the pigs in the village got kicked out and you need to help them get back, or a merm owns a farm in a faraway island and you need to help them work at the farm.

There is just so much possibility for NPC left untouched, if the constant is a stage then it should have a supporting cast of NPC, The first game is more of a game like chess but in DST it's more of a play, and the constant is a stage like this William Shakespeare quote.

All the world’s a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,

Mewling and puking in the nurse’s arms;

And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel

And shining morning face, creeping like snail

Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,

Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad

Made to his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a soldier,

Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,

Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,

Seeking the bubble reputation

Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice,

In fair round belly with good capon lin’d,

With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,

Full of wise saws and modern instances;

And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts

Into the lean and slipper’d pantaloon,

With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;

His youthful hose, well sav’d, a world too wide

For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,

Turning again toward childish treble, pipes

And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,

That ends this strange eventful history,

Is second childishness and mere oblivion;

Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

And DS/T love William Shakespeare
