so people cant share their feedback and limit themselves to 1 character because you don't share that opinion? as you said, this a survival game and people will comment their opinion about what they dont enjoy about the game, klei will decide if they should take into account that opinions or not but not you

And considering what happened to Wicker (with the Farm rework) and Wolfgang, it appears they do mind if a character is too strong.

this is a survival game not a pvp arena. what is wrong with a character being a little strong. just let it be strong and people to enjoy the game. if u want a challenge play wes. he is in the game for that reason and that reason alone.

This is the DST forums, not the DS forums. Wes hasn't been a challenge character for a long time and Wendy hasn't been "a little strong" for way longer.

Challenge character and challenging character aren't the same. In DS he offers no benefits to the player. In DST he has a variety of things to help, definitely better than at least Wilson.

Depending on what your doing.. and how you go about doing it.. determines if Wes is challenging or not.

To me I have no trouble at all playing as him and yes that includes fighting a few (but not all) bosses.

Ultimately it depends on how YOU go about tackling the game, if I want to pan flute the boss to sleep build storage boxes full of gunpowder around it then Kaboom it into Valhalla I can totally do that, You’d also be surprised what enough Wes Balloons bursting near one another can actually do..

there aren’t any “Rules” that state I can’t play as Wes and hire an Army of Pig/Bunnymen to take care of my problems.

Beefalo being something you can Obtain on Day 1 and can ride around on everywhere (including while exploring Caves Content) makes any challenge Wes once had fade away into obscurity.

Sure they could update the game so that anytime Wes goes near to a Beefalo they act like they’re always in heat & he would become challenging again..  But I don’t think making a Character Challenging should outweigh fun factor.

Also: in my personal opinion If they have to rely on Characters to make the game challenging.. what does that say about actual Gameplay Content, Biomes, Mobs, World Gen & World Gen Settings?

The TL:DR- if I could toggle some settings prior to hosting a world where I had an already damaged health core at 50-25% that can’t be repaired, and I could change settings for things like “Does eating food heal you?” THEN I could play as my favorite character Wendy..

But with 25-50 total HP and Food Items no longer healing her.

We need to stop focusing so much on making characters harder.. and start focusing on giving me more settings beyond who I pick to play as to make the game more challenging on myself.

I like your thinking mike, having some switches to flip stats and behaviors to have your own rules for the world.

Sadly I only see this becoming a thing when the storyline ends, the thrones empty, and the games no longer updating regularly.

Something like a finishing touch.

I think Wendy/Abigail are a bit overpowered, personally. The reason I think that? My partner and my ex both used solely Wendy, and they became completely reliant on Abigail and the game became a cakewalk. My girlfriend is unchallenged by any mobs; Spiders? Lead to Abby and smack the warriors a bit. Hound waves? Light a campfire and run circles around Abigail. Nightmare hour Splumonkeys? Free resources.

Yes the only real downside she has is slightly lower damage, but it's never mattered. She can't kill bosses herself because Abby dies and she never learned to kite, she just drags them somewhere else instead. If you've never played another character then you probably won't even notice the damage drop off.

I shoo anyone I recommend this game to away from Wendy. She's a hard crutch character and I'm not saying those aren't needed, but it's difficult to learn or even play anyone else afterwards.
