Imagine not having to stop walking to work out, couldn't be me.

I also couldn't imagine teleporting around as a devilish imp or feeding some dog dead spiders and morphing it into a horned (yet scaredy-cat) beast, but here we are.

Don't shame the hellhound and the imposter.

I think Klei will roll out one more update for Wolfgang and hopefully address his early game.

I can go through multiple worlds to find the right one and the early game is bumming me out.

Then my next wish is a few tools to slow the meter down for when you're not fighting anything, but don't want to be wimpy since it's so punishing (especially in winter).

Anything on top of that would be a bonus.

Fingers crossed.

good for you

It seems like people really dislike being in wimpy form at the start of a world, and if you can’t get over that, I can see why you don’t like the rework.

Thing is, wimpy form is not a problem during the time period it makes sense to let yourself be in it.  There’s no speed penalty, the insulation penalty doesn’t matter (insulation can’t go below zero), and 3/4 damage is plenty to fight a couple spiders or shadows if need be.

By day 8-10 you should be able to have gathered the necessary resources, built a gym, gotten mighty, and killed the eye of terror.  The eye mask is great for Wolf, and the time cost is trivial for a gym when you upgrade it with boss statues.

Next step is to kill dfly which gives you a good set of gems so when you clear the ruins you have a gembell available.  Once you’re back with a magi and whatever other ruins loot you want, there are tons of options and all of them Wolfgang will excel at.

This doesn’t make sense, I mean I’m sorry but unless he is skinny, fragile & can barely hold the weight.. he should be able to casually walk around pumping them.

That should be how it works in game as well: when wimpy you can see him “struggling” to lift the weight, at Normal he pumps it casually, and when Mighty he twirls it in the air like baton.

so he should need to stand still while wimpy with the weight, but at average or Mighty casually walk around while still lifting them.

I say this because of one reason only: Xbox Series X/S controls.

Plug in an Xbox controller and you will notice while lifting: There is an option to press over on your D-pad to STOP lifting the Dumbell- This stands out as odd because.. eating, changing weapons, picking up resources or even simply moving at all will instantly stop lifting the Dumbell.

So then WHY is there a completely unnecessary button prompt specifically to “stop lifting”?

New Wolfgang is better at having a consistent damage modifier. You'll always be at a max of x2 damage as long as you're mighty. As long as you keep your mightiness up, you're essentially dealing way more damage than pre-rework Wolfgang, for less of the annoying food consumption.

And not only that, why are you complaining about the minigame when it only takes two seconds to do when you have some boss statues or giant food on the gym? Did you even play the rework? These threads are getting old.

well of we go for logic, he shouldnt work out while walking since is a not optimal way of training. If wolf wanna be mighty he needs to focus in his breath and the movement of the muscles to improve the training. More oxígen means more nutrients for the muscles and being focused in the movement means that the muscle will work better than walking

increasing the working speed of the golden bell fix the problem

the worst part is that we fuel this kind of biased topics arguing with people who doesnt give arguments when they clearly dont know what are they talking about

there were many wolf mains that bring good points in some topics but most of the revert wolfgang topics are wrote by inmature biased people

Klei wanted Wolgang's refresh to be a nerf, and it was.  Nothing else to really say about it :\

In his first day or two? Yes.. by day 200? Unless you just suck at gathering resources: He’s even better then he used to be.

Aside from losing his speed… what else did they Nerf? All I’m seeing is straight buffs everywhere.

Is he perfect? No.. could use tweaks: and for god sake durability on dumbells and resource costs are a joke.. but Is he overall better? Yes :)

Plus: Chunking dumbells at annoying birds that land in the water where I was just about to place a boat platform down… has never been so satisfying.

Depends on the situation: do you use your rocks in Dumbells, do you build a campfire, do you create a Thermal Stone, do I want to  use this gem on another Gembell or do I want to use it to create a weapon?

I play this game beyond default settings with random weather seasons, I have to be prepared at all times with supplies: And Reworked Wolfgang makes you think:

Do I make more dumbells to be mighty or hold onto this resource for some other purpose.

(first time I tried the rework I died to darkness because I was having so much fun creating dumbells I wasn’t paying attention to how many twigs or grass I had and ended up not having enough to make a torch.)

These are all things you just wouldn’t have ever done with pre-rework Wolfgang, you never really had to do ANYTHING as old Wolfgang, in fact: You could set up a pierogi farm near any boss and become a near unkillable god.

NOW Wolfgang has to worry about how many twigs, rocks, grass, ropes, gold, cutstone, gems he has.

Overall: I think what people are having the most trouble adjusting to with this rework is needing to collect something other then Food to obtain his perks lol.

well, if you play with random weather you will want to be mighty since he has weather resistance. I dont understand the "logic" behind "klei gave more downsides to wimpy and more upsides to mighty so they might want me to play wimpy"

I think that if the dumbbells don't increase the meter while walking, then they should lower the drain of the meter instead.

As Wolfgang spends time away from working out his muscles being to get restless and start deflating but if he exercising them at the very least they won't get restless. The dumbbells would still lose durability and I think it would open up a new way to use the gyms in conjunction with the dumbbells instead of one or the other.

The different tier could offer:

Stone: low depletion rate reduction

Gold: medium depletion rate reductio

Gem: high depletion rate reduction

They would still only increase the meter when you stop and work out.

Idk my ideas aren't very good, haha.

Wimpy isn’t even a downside for a Wendy Main.. or a Wes Main lol- were used to mining slower and doing less damage.

Pre-Rework Wendy had significant time where she would be Without Abigail to help her: You either got good… or you got dead.

If I want to be Wimpy Wolfgang to reserve resources: I’m pretty sure as a Wendy/Wes player it’s not going to bother me.

maybe but will be useful for the first21 days, after who will walk at normal speed instead of using the cane and pumping the muscles every many minutes? also bodybuilders dont do aerobic exercises so it wont have sense if we really wanna make things logical

glad you are so pr0 but the wimpy form has disadvantages and the mighty form has advantages so no, klei dont wana make us play wimpy

They actually do, I know because I looked it up.

I can see your point about the walking cane though. Although it could still be useful for long boss battles and walking from resources point to resource point.

Someone else made a comment about using the dumbbells while on a beefalo and that could be a unique synergy. Especially since the rider beefs are more useful to Wolfgang.

And sounds like a nice end game strat.

Thing about all that is: Wolfgang’s compendium description even prior to him ever being reworked labeled him as a harder character to play then Wendy (remember survival odds?)

And EVERYONE Questioned why he was labeled as harder when all you needed to do was eat food and be Superman, well NOW maybe he is actually justified for being labeled as Harder.

So yes- Klei intended you to play Wimpy.

they do but if you are a wimpy or normal person who wanna get rip you will avoid aerobic exercises or atleast is how i was trained many years ago (man, can we stop talking about wolf? makes me notice how old i am xD)
