No Speed Boost Is Actually Good Change For Wolfgang

Didn't see that one comming? Well, after spending half a week arguing with everyone I could, no matter be it day or night, and without rest, I had enough time to digest what speed haters said and I gotta say, you guys made some valid points.

So here we go, top 14 reasons why speed removal is a good thing (add more in comments):

Number 1: Wolfgang was op and needed nerf. This game is very balanced and the characters here are very hard to use. Wolfgang is equal to every character now. 

Number 2: Wolfgang was too easy. He didn't had a downside like the rest, and now he still dosen't but the speed is gone. Wolfgang is not easy anymore. 

Number 3: Speed is not mentioned in his perk list in the character select screen, so it shouldn't exist. Perks that aren't mentioned in select screen don't exist. Ever. 

Number 4: Wolfgang is a strong man not a speed man. This is just common sence. 

Number 5: Wolfgang was too boring. He needed more fun mechanics and more utility. He has no speed boost now and that helped the cause. 

Number 6: Speed doesn't fit into his charcaters kit. I'm not sure what that means but removing speed helped to fix this.

Number 7: Wolfgang is a fighting character not a running character. This is not the same as number 4. 

Number 8: I forgot what, but there was a valid point made by someone. I think. 

Number 9: some Wolfgang mains don't even care that speed is gone. So neither should you. 

Number 10: I don't even like Wolfgang,  so now that he is worse my favorite character got buffed by comparison. 

Number 11: his new perks are useful. We can't have new useful perks while keeping the old ones. That's not how rework works. This never happened. 

Number 12: Wolfgang works faster now. This is a relevant perk and a good replacement to movement speed, because only players can chop trees. Perfect for single player playstyle Wolfgang has. 

Number 13: Wolfgang had a huge list of versatile perks. Now he can give one of his many many upsides to someone else. 

Number 14: speed was a mistake. It's a bug not a feature. So even if it's good, even if it fits, even if everyone likes it and want it to come back - it should still be removed. Bugs are ment to be fixed. 

Please don’t make sarcastic posts like this, I’m pretty sure Klei is getting actual threats from a lot of angry people about these changes.. and it’s really uncalled for, I’m personally hoping that they will Rework SPEED itself instead of having it be one characters crazy perk- here since I play A LOT of team based games allow me to provide an Example:

WX78 rework: WX78 can craft Electric pulse belts they can equip onto other survivors, the overcharge is now more akin to a Lightning rod being struck by lightning and when it hits WX instead of channeling all of the energy into WX78.. it also releases five additional bolts of lightning from the top of WX78s Antenna which will fire off in the area like an Area of effect attack, this AOE will also connect to any nearby equipped Electric Pulse Battery Belts- Making EVERYONE NEAR WX78 GO FAST.

Team Work makes the dream work. ;)

Zero sarcasm. Those are the the most legit points anti-speed people made or at least that's how I remember them. And I gathered them all here because I don't want to be biased and want klei to hear both opinion sides before deciding what to do with the whole speed backlash. 

I don't know what threats have to do with me, the only threat I'll make is  "I'll never play Wolfgang again if rework is gonna be bad." 

Or are you saying the situation is very sErIoUs? Became people making empty threats for no reason is not news, they do it all the time and then get ignored or banned. 

Every time I see OP's nick in a post, I read it as Gi-Go-Lo. And tell myself "That's a good lad, bringing happiness to women everywhere". Also yes, speed bad, Wolf is a serious stronkman and everyone knows super-serious stronkmen skip leg day, every day! :lol:

i can fully prove that this reason is the most correct, because I was lifting weights on the spot with my 5 old dude observing me exercise and their sanity is surely increasing.

It does open design space for a new character who takes the speedy aspects of oldWolfgang to enter the constant.  Imagine if a new "speedy" character entered, but had to best Wolfgang for speed.....  that would be very difficult to design around without being even more op.  Taking Wolfgang's speed away opens this up.

People already dealt with that and Wanda - and tbh I can't say it was executed flawlessly.  Wanda got some downsides aimed at earning that dps at least.

If we get something like Wheeler you can return to speed runs with them and see if the speed, or damage was most OP (probably the speed.)

Strongman never skipped leg, every day is leg day for the survivor's, Wolfgang doesn't run faster when he's scared, because he is already running as fast as he can away from his past. In conclusion? Welp I know this might be a repeat of what I said somewhere, but Wolfgang didn't skip leg day, leg day skipped him, so stop blaming Wolfgang for being slow you jerks.
