Can I use spools to weave a gift for a friend?

I have lots of spools, my friend does not. Is it possible for me to use my spools to weave something for them? Or to give some of my spools to them directly?

Sadly no. Providing ways to give things to your friends is awesome and something we're always looking for new ways to enable, but giving spools just leads to all sorts of problems around accounts being stolen and used for laundering stolen credit cards etc etc. Some folks just gotta ruin it for everyone else.

The closest you can get is weaving whatever skins for items he wants and then just crafting them for him whenever you play together. Not exactly the same but it's the best option you've got.

Kinda like the loyal rarity ones from twitch. The skin can be bound by the red thread of fate or whatever for an explanation and any skins gifted from a friend are un-weavable.

@nome Thank you for the response. I understand now why it's not an option. Pity about the dishonest people ruining things for the rest of us.

Right now - because of the way skins are done in DST - loyal versions of an existing skin are a separate skin, with separate art and separate lua code, etc.

Dang… never considered those reasons, but that makes a lot of sense.
