The fart generator

Recommended Posts

Hi !

I have always thougth that when a dupe has the "flatulent" trait, he rejects polluted oxygen. But i recently realised he actually reject natural gas, and I couldn't let a so wonderful source of electricity unexploited.

I lock the dupe in a small room with only a gas vent for oxygen, and a conveyor chute for food.
The mini gas pump is activate when NG is detected, and the mini liquid pump extract the polluted water from generator and the dupe's pee.

What ?
No, this is not monstruous. This is for the survival of the colony. This setup generate 12.6 kJ / cycle, and use ONLY 9 kJ / cycle.
Without this electricity, tell me how the others dupes will be able to survive ?
And he doesn't seem sad about his situation. Look how he smile.

I guess it's like that Ministry of Peace, Love and Plenty thing! No Truth tho.

Quite right. It's a tongue in cheek title back when the game first launched and I built a version of this setup. It was just two hamster wheels on either side of the printing pod, all on mesh tiles, Back then pee and vomit was the only sustainable water source so new dupes was spawned in every 3 cycles, ran on the hamster wheel to provide power until they died from exhaustion, they peed and stress puked to provide water for the colony, and when they died morbs would spawn from their bodies providing oxygen. Their farts which was polluted oxygen back then also provided polluted oxygen for the colony.
