HojMcFoj Posted March 22, 2021 Share Posted March 22, 2021 (Sorry if this has already been made or goes somewhere else, I'm a bit new to posting) Do you have any theories for the lore of RoT? I've brushed up on some of the stuff that has to do with "Them" and all the stuff about the moon and the caves, so I'm really interested to what's next. In the 2021 Roadmap post, they revealed a new structure(?) that had to do with the lunar island, which I'm very interested in. I can't wait to see how the Lunar grotto, Lunar island, and the Archives all tie together. The Lunar grotto is most interesting to me because I'm not sure if this is already revealed but, how did a piece of the moon reach the caves?? And one more very small thing that I love, maybe everyone has realized this idk but since the lunar island/grotto came from the moon, in the moon icon on the day counter there is now a little chunk missing from it. QuartzBeam Posted March 22, 2021 Share Posted March 22, 2021 The Lunar Grotto is not a piece of the moon. It's a part of the regular Blue Mushtree Forest. The moon chunk that became the Lunar Island crashed right on top of it and the resulting cracks in the ceiling have spilled lunar magic-infused water into that section of the mushtree forest, mutating that particular area into the grotto. ( The Archives are older than the regular ruins and where sealed away for unknown reasons. From the looks of it though, the Ancients once worshipped the Moon, before something happened that led them to seal the archives away and turn to Nightmare Fuel. I'm hoping the new structure is a portal to a location on the moon. I love exploring the ruins and I really want another similar biome. A place with moon gems, structures, mobs, items, etc. Or mayne it will be a beam that breaks off another chunks, haha. The more moon stuf the better, I say! Fight moon enemies, make air sources etc I'm really hoping there's something like the Forge or the Gorge coming from the new structure or maybe that has something to do with the sealed portal in the archives, but it seems unconventional to put them in an area you really have to play the game to get to. I loved The Gorge with all my heart and would kill to play it again (on PS4 so no mods), and I feel teased by the new Wurt skin. I don't think Klei has the balls to make Charlie evil so this whole thing of her sending us to fight all the enemies of "Them" and the nightmare throne, like the pigs in the Forge, giving a snicker to the Gnaw so he calms down and now fighting moon creatures is all an elaborated plot to make the survivors stronger and get "Them" distracted so they can be killed in the future. Game's story will probably end up with all the survivors being sent home and Charlie staying in the constant. I imagine either charlie is gonna be the main villain to the very end until we get a sequel. Or A surprise twist we still don't have enough clues to figure out yet.
