Hey Grifters,

Here are today's fixes, gathered from reports from the weekend. We're looking to lock down the build this Thursday, so hopefully this list will be a bit smaller each day this week. We'll probably hotfix most of this into release shortly after that, just to get more play-hours on it before launch.

UI

  • Allow you to preview voices in the compendium using a controller
  • Give moreef a sad bonus string in smith's brawl
  • Unlock the neural_braid in the compendium when you get the upgraded version in event_merchant_startup
  • Buttons with no right-click functionality shouldn't make sounds when you right click them
  • Fix string in the compendium when you have beaten a boss as max prestige
  • Hook up happy_call_pet quips
  • Fix damage arrow previews from being rendered beneath core arguments.
  • Selecting combat/negotiation using gamepad will first invoke the preview panel, and only then engage.  This prevents the preview panel from automatically showing up and obscuring dialog.
  • Show cosmic grafts in the compendium
  • Adjusted the fighter formation in mutant_vix.lua to prevent overlapping

GAMEPLAY

  • Muliffee has a better range of opinion events in her final quest
  • Oolo and foolo hate you for killing their sibling
  • Mullifee and theroux will help you against vix if they are at least neutral towards you.
  • Mark the oshnu as wanted_alive in sidejobs/SMITH/side_smith_three_is_a_party
  • Fix followup quest crash if target is dead in side_smith_sponsorship_deal.lua
  • The "terror" perk now applies 5 flat morale damage rather than a percentage
  • Added an IsActive check in disruptor_field to prevent an infinite loop if the automech dies while the buff is active
  • Added a nil-check in the "Smashing" daily feat

CARDS

  • Klipper no longer shows a condition icon
  • Clarified desc of Double Down
  • Weezil's Conditioning now uses its own stacks to show how much more power can be removed
  • Fixed bug where Vix's Prickly applied a non-int amount of composure
  • Fixed bug where declining boss grafts didn't grant the correct amount of shills
  • Fixed bug where brain_harp was reducing, not increasing, overflow damage

Im not giving up yet Kevin!

Kevin listen, serious question. When you get the event with Smith finding Oshnu and choose to ignore his request. Will Oshnu:

a) have random chance to either abandon you or stay with you

b) the event in which he abandonds you triggers at specific time and it won't happen if your Oshnu isn't with you (Oshnu is staying in Smiths room)

It's a countdown. After some time, you will be prompted to deliver the oshnu to the oshnudrome. If you don't, it will leave. If you do, you get some oshnu related items.

You can stash the oshnu in your room to cancel this quest, though.

You can't bring your pet against Vix. At least not if

Spoiler

you follow him inside the behemoth. Haven't tested what happens if you stay outside. While it's not necessarily illogical, I feel like you should at least be warned about it, if it's intentional. Sal's showdown with Kashio sort of trains us to expect that our pets follow us everywhere.

It would also be nice if there was a still image in the epilogue showing

Spoiler

the tentacle-thing grabbing the behemoth back into the sea. It feels like a copout to describe it without showing it, especially since there is nothing between that happening and the epilogue starting.

Something else, both Sal's and Rook's campaign have one last negotiation before the final boss that makes the fight easier if you do well. For Vix, you do have a negotiation or a fight, but it is unclear what effect they have, if any, on the fight afterwards. Kashio has an explicit buff for every relic she has, the Bog Monster has a condition for each article of faith that you leave / remove. Vix has nothing of the sort that lets the player know that their previous actions had an effect on the fight difficulty.

On that note, if you just skip the auction, it seems Kashio has none of her relics instead all of them, and gets really easy to take down in combat, which seems not to work as intended. Unless you are a fan of the 80's movie "war games". "What a strange game. The winning move is not to play"

The only change beetwen fight and negotiation is that in fight Vixmalli lowers your max HP pernamentally, while in negotation he doesn't. Making reconciling with him obvious choice.

Where did you get that idea?
