If he was a DLC character that has to be hand chosen why would you put him among the rest of the base game characters? With the shipwrecked and Hamlet characters they were put after the original characters. So if he is a base game character he should be put in DST. If you can't put him in because he supposedly built WX-78 and is Winona's employer why put in people that are blood related like Wendy and Maxwell. They could update the tinkering tab to have devices that benefit other players as well as himself. 1bubbainpa Posted January 1, 2021 Share Posted January 1, 2021 I feel like Wagstaff is going to have a much more bigger implementation than just being a standard playable character. He is like the only person who was brought to the constant that actually wants to be there, and his staticky imagery when he gets low suggests that he might have found a loophole. This makes me think two possible theories: 1. Wagstaff in an act of being power-hungry will kick Charlie off the throne and become the new Nightmare King 2. Wagstaff has found some sort of loophole that would allow the survivors to escape the constant. And the second is Wagstaff hismelf, brought right before Winona. Its confirmed that they get to Constant from one same portal... Then why does first Wagstaff looks like corrupted hologram on low health, and Winona dosnt? This cant be right, Klei wont add Wagstaff all that features just for the sick of it. Well Winona is useless. The catapults do no damage at all. The thumper is much more useful for resource gathering. Wagstaff on the other hand had Holograms of himself exploring the constant, created WX78 to FURTHER Explore the Constant without entering it himself, Somehow had a portal built in his office to get WX78 into the constant- Is also the creator of the Voxola music devices that have pulled various people into the constant.. and finally- He HIMSELF was drug into the constant and his portal Explodes, Winona comes in at last second to try and save him, it’s too late.. she repairs the portal using her Mechanical and Engineering skills, then she too is tricked by her own sister Charlie and pulled in after Wagstaff, then instead of just the portal: The entire factory explodes. Wagstaff isn’t exactly sounding like the hero to this story for me.. sorry guys, Maxwell may have been self centered, ego-tistical & mostly uncaring of others- but at least he felt sorry for Charlie & others.. Wagstaff just genuinely feels like either intentionally or unintentionally- his curiosity of further exploring the constant is the root of everything that’s going wrong. I mean Holograms, Personal Robot explorer gadget-thing known as WX78, Devices that just so happen to pull victims into the very place he is so enthused with further exploration of- I certainly wouldn’t put it past Wagstaff to have created the device to intentionally ensnare human test subjects to test the waters before venturing in Himself. They gave him really good dishes which in trade spawned the debuff of only being able to eat 1 dish at a time (in technicality) With Winona, her inventions are much more inferior to Wagstaff's. The thumper does the exact same damage as the catapult AND does AOE damage. The telepad is easy teleportation to base, areas of interest, ect. Vs Winona's spotlight that doesn't really do much at all. I see where you're coming from like Walter preventing the port of Wheeler for being a similar role. Time did pass since single player don't starve so we can expect new inventions or an evolution of how they work! Both Wormwood and Warly are distinct from their previous versions.
