Szczuku
Are they wet by default? Crab King is a really hard boss to defeat as a solo player even if you want to use the Sea Weed strategy. So I've decided to dedicate some time to farm electric darts. And I mean... it'd be logical if both the Crab King and Malbatross were wet by dafault. lakhnish
They are not wet by default. They are only wet if the world is wet, such as during Spring rain. Blue text when you hover over it means its wet.

Hornete
Ocean mobs are not naturally "wet", you'll need rain to come. Apparently this is intended for some odd reason, I do wish ocean mobs were considered wet all the time, would be fun to bring morning stars on boating trips. Well for some reason no one except Wurt can swim in it, so there could be something odd about it. Still, when you missclick rowing or fall to it it does add wetness to you. And so do waves. So I’d take it more as an oversight.
BezKa
As for Malbatross, it's not shocking considering how birds living near water have near waterproof (watertight?) feathers. As for Crab King... Honestly no idea.
