Is it possible to know the exact day a season starts? With no mods nor console commands by the way (Ps5). Usually if I plan to play on a megabase world I leave Autumn on very long (50 days) so I have a stretched time window to build a lot and the rest of the seasons untouched (Winter on 15 days, Spring on 20 days and Summer on 15 days), which gives me a total of 100 days in a year, and I really like that number because ocd much… But lately I’ve been messing around with shorter seasons and now my years are all scrambled. I have no idea how to go back to the nice rounded number because nowhere in game I can find when the next season starts or ends…

I know winter starts a little earlier than the day snow begins to fall, sometimes there is rain before winter as well but it’s never a dead giveaway for me.

A change in the filter over your screen will appear. You can tell summer started the moment world starts looking saturated with particles drifting in the air. Spring will make everything look more green while winter blue.

The thermometer does work despite being kinda strange to read. It'll be near top the closer to summer and near the bottom in winter.

Got a really hard one about Winona. How does her gadgets work? Do they take the skills on being crafted, placed or when Winona is around?
For example the Catapults, how do I know my catapults are dealing damage in a larger area? What happens if 2 Winonas are playing together and only one has the Explosive Volley III skill unlocked?
Would the catapult skills still be active if the creator was far away or left the game?
My brain can’t comprehend the complexity.

From what I understand the buffs applied to a building differ structure. Spotlights are based on who placed it. Spotlights will keep their skills if the Winona disconnects, and will follow that player's skill tree for the world. Example, A winona with hotlight places the spotlight and uses a moon idol to change skilltree and now doesn't have hot light, but has big light. The catapult will now read that Winona skilltree and become a big light with no hotlight. (If they chose a different character it would still read the previous spotlight info as it would not have a new Winona tree to update its skills with.) I'm not 100% sure, but I think generators are the same. And catapults apply the buffs based on who activates them. If you activate a catapult and you have faster firing, it will fire faster, if the other Winona activates a catapult it will have the explosive volley. If you both activate the catapults, say using the remote, it will update depending on whoever was the last to touch it, it will not combine the skills. If a non-Winona character activates a catapult, it will have no skills applied at all.

As for knowing if your catapults are dealing damage in a larger area, the rock explosion effect should be stronger. And if you use the Shadow Planar attack, the rose patch will be huge.

Wow thank you! Very well explained, I’m literally dealing with everything you just typed. I thought I could big brain out of this skilltree but the devs made sure to overcome some potential exploits. No wonder it’s so annoying to have the catapults turn off every 10 seconds. Made maxed out spotlights, changed the skills around and maxed out catapults but they just adapt to whatever skills you have currently, crazy. Now I just want to come up with the best strat to get the most out of her.

I think it's the new parasite posessing player skeletons and reviving them as cloned players.

When did Ornery Chests get nerfed? I could swear they had planar damage because I got used to fighting them on a beefalo and seeing the white hit pop up. It doesn’t anymore, was there a patch saying anything about it?

they didn't, it's just that nightmare saddle makes beefalo deal planar damage and the effect only happens after your hit deals no planar damage

How on Earth are you supposed to find Moon Quay without brute forcing it's general location? I get that there's graffiti and raids, but it's not a big enough area to be helpful

I don't think I've ever found it without console commands.

Edit: For reference, I sailed around the constant trying to find it, went through about 3/4 of the constant, and randomly ran into it without seeing any of the signs. It took four days of straight sailing.

The same way you find other biomes, the problem is that the ocean is empty so is boring to sail that much space to only interact with a couple of points of interest

I often find it when I'm finding other POIs, like Pearl's, Crab King, Lunar Island, Salt Formation, Malbatross, Great Knobby Tree, the big Shark. It's mostly has been near Pearl's though. You'd know when there is a raid music and raid boat spawns.

The point is, you should find it incidentally, not on purpose.

Is anyone else extremely excited that next years roadmap is THE official 10 years anniversary of Dont Starve Together? They did a huge update to Solo DS and all three of its DLCs to celebrate its 10 year Anniversary so it’ll be exciting to see what they do with DSTs.

I have my fingers crossed for Shipwrecked and Hamlet DLC compatibility or at the very least an announcement that they’ll be porting the remaining 6 playable characters of those DLCs over into DST.

Another important thing to mention is that 2025s Chinese new year will be the year of the snake, so it only feels appropriate that DST finally gets the Shipwrecked and Hamlet mob.

DST even more recently has gotten snake otter and the shadow rictus so it’ll be cool to see what Year of Snake Event will bring to the game.

I just pray whatever it is ends up being a billion times better than year of the DragonBoat.

Is there anyway to force a bee biome on either the PC or console versions? I find that if there is no bee biome I find it so much less enjoyable to play Willow. Now that I am playing more Wortox I find a similar pattern. Spider biomes make a nice secondary but it's just so nice to have a bee biome. How do I force one? (I set killer bees to lots already)

only by making beehives but that does require (non-killer) bees
