Shipwrecked boats were just Water Shoes you put on your characters feet and move over water, the boats in DST however behave more like actual boats. Improving boat-building would be nice, because currently boats looks like complete mess of everything - there isn't enought space for crockpots. sails, chests and alchemy engine. Why don't make special structures for boats-only (like tin fishin bin), mini-fridge or barrels for items, sail must be exactly in middle of the boat, etc. . Boy, I wish someone had told me that before I went and build like 10 boats with all those things and more. There's way more space on a boat that people give it credit for. You just gotta know the correct order to place structures, as is the case on land too. Oh, and the Alchemy Engine is a waste of space, only thing you'll be prototyping out at sea is the Cookie Cutter Helmet. DaZoul Posted July 23, 2020 Share Posted July 23, 2020 shipwrecked boats are literally just sea legs. and I dont mean the boat named sea legs, although that is also a sea leg. you just wak with them, nothing really interesting. giving them in as a potential would screw up everything in Return of Them, making things trivial, too easy, boring. Also, making them an "optional replacement" to boats would make no sense, as obviously everyone would choose them. DST boats though, they actually work (somewhat) like a real boat. you have to aim where you go, handle the anchor, handle the sails and the oar, and is just much more interesting than shipwrecked boats are. They do have their flaws, yes, but whatever you say, shipwreckd boats wont be coming to DST, because, as I said, they would screw up everything making everything trivial. If you use a masted boat it will be fast, the boat is only slow with the paddle to have control on it in tight situations.
