Apart from the previously sickly plant finally putting out lots of buds to show, the special dragonfruit I rescued from the trashbin has also began budding, too!

Hopefully all these buds survive and grow into full Dragonfruits :))

Also, for ease of reference, I shall proceed to name my dragonfruit:

My prized, largest plant which has produced all the flowers in the past: Betsy

My second plant which used to be sickly but now produced lots of buds: Maria

The special plant which I rescued from trash: Ibara

The sick plants above the cr (which are thankfully in recovery now, but still need to be monitored): Wormwood and Wart

Sorry for the lack of uodates i feel extraordinarily lazy lol

Further development:

A day before bloom:

And finally, bloom!

Now in forty days i expect them to fully ripen! I especially cant wait for what Ibara's fruit will look outside and inside, and taste like too!

Apart from development from the three dragonfruits on the vine i've been getting new buds from Maria and Ibara!

IMG20210626145245.thumb.jpg.3afca72fb14fdc202de18a61636de96f.jpgIMG20210626145155.thumb.jpg.3e5063f9e0ee2d0099c51d610d81da12.jpg

Strangely enough, Betsy, which is supposed to be my prize plant, hasnt been flowering much as of late :// but at least she's healthier this year around. while dry season is nearing its end, i certainly hope Betsy can flower late like she always does.

Also, I'm really happy Maria is being the most productive plant this year! She survived a nearly deadly bout of dragonspot (that's what i'll call the disease until i get a proper definition of it) too, like Wormwood and Wart above the comfort room.

Oh wow! They're all so cute! Please don't get stung... It will be scary!

Here we have four new buds, with Betsy finally putting out two of her own! Sadly, while there were many more buds not all of them made it but thats to be expected from a plant growing in a pot.

After that, the four grown flowers bloomed, each on their own for five consecutive nights! While this meant that i would not have cross pollination for the new variant, hopefully its flowers do not need such in order to bloom. Wasnt ablr to take pics of all of them as i was lazy lol.

Finally, the three fruits I have are growing, and they're much larger than the past years' fruit!

it's been a while, hasn't it been?

Regretfully i've neglected the elder plants and they only grew 3 flowers (and they're in the thickets of branches so i can't get a good picture without getting scratched to all heck but these two new potted giants have borne 11 flowers between them :))

The dragonfruit is still going strong! But its REALLY weighing on the roof now and our attempt to harvest the first fruit of this year was torturously difficult with great risk of the roof caving in

But we made it! And although we were not able to hand pollinate, we saw bees doing Nature's work for us which is a surprise in our suburban environment! (Makes me wonder where their hive is...)

And as always i could not resist the classic joke!
