EDIT: Albeit it's insanely buggy right now, sometimes you die, sometimes you outright stop existing. You can use the plank to abandon what's not in your inventory and return to the portal with 100% wetness. I think what's being shown in the Gif is him mounting 1 plank, but using the abandon feature on another plank, which causes Wortox to run all the way over to there to jump in.
