BLACKBERREST3 Posted April 18, 2019 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Now that workshop is available for ONI, I want to give some ideas to mod creators and devs. Hopefully these ideas benefit other people's gameplay as well. If they already exist in workshop, please link them below. - Electric Rocket - Electric Jetpack - Buildable/Destructible chairs, tables, AETN, vending machines, lights, etc. - Rotate-able everything in every orientation - Better Critter Sensor - No Sensor Limits unless it breaks the game like temperature These are the most prevalent issues I have found that felt restrictive in my gameplay. It's a horrible word to use in this context because I can mod in a sensor with a higher melting temperature. It will be better, but it's likely not what you was thinking of. The higher the pressure, the higher the lift. A jetpack using power instead of fuel and doesn't exhaust anything could be interesting and balanced if it requires 5 kg/tile air pressure. A rocket where you have to connect 5 gantries to it, and each gantry has to be supplied with ridiculous amounts of electricity. The heavy conductive wire is already pretty useless as it, change it to being capable of 100kW, make each gantry require a burst of the full 100kW for a full quarter cycle for a successful launch. That way heat management of a massive battery bank presents just as much of a challenge as the other rocket fuels do. Sasza22 Posted April 19, 2019 Share Posted April 19, 2019 The ion engine is electric powered. It uses an electric field to propel gas to create thrust for the rocket. It was called the electric engine at one point. It doesn`t generate enough thrust for liftoff but might be useful as a booster. It would be interesting to have an engine that is a giant battery that needs to be loaded before start. It was also suggested recently i think. I`m not sure if it`s usable as a jetpack but we might as well build a helipack for dupes. It just needs to work only above a certain pressure. That could be battery powered.
