0xFADE
Simple observation can tell you what is a bug. Things like melting resulting in more mass or dipping small amounts of cold liquid in to a large pool changing the temperature drastically. If there's a name dispute, it's because you don't know the real reason for this phenomenon. Imagine what would happen if there was a bubble at the bottom of the pool. Obviously, bubbles will surface. So what's the difference between a waterfall and a pool? The waterfall is equivalent to a low quality pool, so there are bubbles below the waterfall, what will the bubble do?You can guess Finally, I put up the original link 1. 2. Both are bubble pumps that do not consume electricity 3. This is less efficient but the device is also simple and does not consume electricity In my country we call it a 气泡泵/气举泵 Finally, this structure has an excellent use in addition to steam turbines,as I'll show in another post THANK YOU! Those were the first things I looked for when I saw the "has anyone else done something like this", but you know the forums and searching old topics... 1 hour ago, DaveSatx said: if you are going out of your way to use niche structures to enable those kinds of things then getting upset that they work.. i'm not sure what to say. anything happening because of the implicit one element per tile is probably with us for quite awhile. those are players choosing to exploit game mechanics. you don't get unlimited power during normal game play for example. i'm under the impressioned that melting something produces the same mass now (melting insulation wasn't it?) its just a matter of the visual not updating until save/load... then again someone may have found another exploit i haven't looked at lol. If it's done to a door, the door's mass resets when it opens/closes iirc. I do want you to know that my comments above were meant to be tongue and cheek - hoping to get a laugh. My favorite response was @Oozinator's crying face. @Oozinator, you should update your profile to include the crying face, at least for a day. Now back to the "niche" structures. Those structure are designed to pinpoint EXACTLY how and why the bug occurs. The point is to use hyperbole (exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally) to help the devs see the consequences of the current state of the game. The sad part is how often I now see posts that, at their heart, have these bugs as the issue. Why does my steam geyser spit out hydrogen - matter conversion. Why does my CO2/chlorine/etc. disappear - matter conversion. Why does my power report not give the correct "produced" result - infinite power loop. This triggers anytime you have a tiny battery on the same circuit as a smart battery and a transformer after them. I bet all kinds of newbies hit this. Maybe not infinite power, but they can easily double or triple their power use without even knowning they are doing it. Why does my dirt only return half the mass? Sometimes it gives all the mass? I can't plan anything because the seemingly same inputs produce different results (liquid/matter duplication). These bugs affect all kinds of things. You think you found a way to get a steam turbine to work with NET power and NO EXPLOITS, get excited, make a post, and then find out later that you triggered the infinite power bug. DANG! People put posts up with these bugs practically every day. Reddit has them too. It's crazy to watch and read. That's why they need to be fixed. They're killing the predictability of the game, and making structures hard to design and implement unless you know how to avoid the bug (precisely the reason it's a bug). I'm still trying to figure out 100% what's causing the metal cannon to work (matter duplication with doors - infinite tungsten). However, each time I think I've finally got it, something else weird happens. It might be related to the difference in heat transfer with left/right flows. Still testing. It's unpredictable. It's probably more on the side of "niche" structures than all the others, but I'm pretty sure once I get exactly what's going on, I'll find ways to use the bug in regular game play, and explain other crazy things. If it were only these "niche" structures that caused problems, we could call it done. However, it's not. These bugs affect game play everywhere. 14 minutes ago, Yunru said: but you know the forums and searching old topics... Haha! Yep. @blash365 got me one of those links, but not all 3. I added them to my first post so they are all there now. Great vids.
