lee1026
So, the game tells you critters need a certain temperature range to be happy. Of course, being the kind and sensitive rancher I am, I usually meet them. Kidding, I just throw critters wherever, and things usually work out fine. But in extreme temperatures, do critters die at an elevated rate? In other words, can I run a kill room based around extreme temperatures instead of door schemes for drowning? Soulwind
Yes they die if too far out of temp range. However for anything except slicksters (getting too cold) it's not really a very practical method. 0xFADE
They might change things later but right now they instantly die when they go out of their livable range. Slicksters and pacu can lay different eggs based on temp. It is dangerous for wild pacu if they turn in to the cold water one. I did some heat murdering before. Using cold temperatures worked a little better with liquid oxygen temps than trying to kill them with heat. I experimented since slicksters don’t die from drowning. The problem is their bodies seem to have different heat transfer rates. If I remember hatches changed temps slowly enough they would grow to adults and reset their temps. It was too slow. FIXBUGFIXBUGFIX
Suitable temperature means nothing currently. Note that temperature may influence the ratio of different kind of eggs, for some critters. However, suitable temperature is another story. Guest
extreme cold does a good job of murdering critters and has the added benefit of preserving the meat until picked up. Sasza22
Critters die when outside of livable range, but it`s the critter that has to have that temperature so they can survive for some time outside their livable temps. First i thought critters would prefer areas that are in their comfort zone and move away from areas too hot or cold but it doesn`t semm to be the case. Maybe in the future.
