Like making 'roleplay' base with a shine bug 'zoo' that the duplicants walk through etc. Last time I made one of these threads it was about tropical pacu aquariums and some people shared some cool base designs with tropical pacus swimming around the bedrooms. I did enjoy the challenge of ranching these in previous patches just as a trophy critter flying around the bedrooms / dining hall etc. It seems like they're useless now since max decor is 120 and very easy to get. So their +200 decor buff doesn't really add anything to your base. I still have a tiny shine bug room with different variations of the critter in my base as a kind of 'zoo' though just as a 'roleplay' thing. There were some abyss and azure bugs there but I forgot to feed them and they died lol. I really enjoyed building big radiant bug farm in the middle of my bedrooms, and having +12 morale because of that... Sasza22 Posted December 26, 2018 Share Posted December 26, 2018 They don`t add too much in places with high decor already but you can use them to neutralize negtive decor. Place your radiant bugs in your industrial areas where you get -300 decor from heavi watt wires and you will get positive decor there. Dupes often spend some time in those areas, especially when you get them to tune up stuff. IMO the current average decor is capped at 1000, the actual decor can be higher than 1000 and push the current average faster to this limit, if higher. goatt Posted February 24, 2019 Share Posted February 24, 2019 So I bred a herd, but accidentally deleted the file. I had 200 shine bugs by accident without me knowing what’s going on. And eventually I saw one of them is Abyss Bug, I breed on that one and got a bunch of radiant bugs. They are fairly easy to get. I tried to get one when I got the 200 bugs, just because I wanna see if its name “radiant” makes its light broghter. No it doesn’t, still 1800 flux. But it was nice experience, that I probably won’t do it again, cuz of a bit lag when I zoom in my camera in that area. And no I didn’t have the “art” traits to design a nice looking area to take advantage of them. I hope someone can showcase.
