They do not pass on heat to machines they are plugged into, only tiles that are built on them, and only that tile of automation or wire will transfer the heat, not the entire line.

This is a good thing, otherwise my scanner / solar network would be toast.

is there a definitive thread/wiki somewhere that explains what tile/pipe/cable/gas/building/backdrop/whatever interacts with what? I'm still a little fuzzy on some of thoseĀ

It might be the water changing to steam and back. i had the same problem mopping water in ice biomes. It kept changing to ice and melting back.

At some point o got enough of this problem and remove all water and steam from that biome using sandbox mode (i left just water bottles in closed area). and after 5 cycles i noticed there is water again and bottles are gone. i spend 3 hours trying to find if there are any drops or something - nope. so i just collect that water and treat is as feature XD

I'm not an expert, but about the cool steam geyser maybe you don't know it yet.

Here isĀ tetso318.sav my save sir, if you care to try.

Thanks for information and save. It really works. :)Ā

haha. isn't that true? I have constant (1k cycles+) problems with steam, water in magma biome (i have no idea how its called). I mop it, leave bottles - bottles disappear and make water everywhere again. Or maybe temperature works on bottles changing it to steam?Ā

Ah yes, if it changes state while bottled, it will break the bottle. That's the only way it happens.

Maybe? I'm not really sure. I usually try to work things out on my own through experimentation. Usually if I have a question I test it out until I get bored in sandbox/dev mode.

Ah one more thing. which always makes me laugh. Didn't you notice that gravity works rather funny in ONI?

Dupes has to run on tiles - unless has atmo suits, water falls down from higher pool to lower, gases move around (which is also fine) but yet you can build single ladder floating somewhere, or build floor on top of nothing. it doesn't fall down, just stay there forever unless you deconstruct this. i wonder what would happen with game mechanic if add full gravity to game.

Up until space was introduced i just assumed it`s connected to the back wall. In space it is pretty weird. I guess making drywall mandatory for putting stuff in space would be just an annoyance.

True that,

But forcing people to build right amount of pedestals or columns and add additional variables to weight etc would be interesting so the whole thing will not collapse etc might get interesting.
