Flare2V
Force feeding was a very important part of PvP in Don't Starve Together, but it has since been removed (nobody stands still in pvp). If an enemy is running, the only option you have is to either be loaded with darts or face the fact that because they can hold down m1 they automagically escape from any conflict. Melee attacking an enemy will have absolutely no effect as the delay between the client and the server prevents the attack from properly registering. Force feeding, however, is able to cut through this lag as it has a larger range and is performed near-instantly upon right clicking a target. Force feeding is also an effective counter to enemies attempting to heal mid-combat. Please bring this feature back, it was much appreciated amongst the small PvP community and doesn't negatively effect anyone outside of it. Thank you for reading! Tedion
I agree. I almost feel like Klei is trying to put down pvp in general. I recently played pvp on a server, and it was the most fun I've had in this game in a while. All the mechanics, including force-feeding, make it a great experience that isn't just Ctrl+F to win. LegendOfPiggle
Wasnt the issue with force feeding was because* it was instant? Correct me If I'm wrong of course , but I think it was cus of that.

Correct me If I'm wrong of course , but I think it was cus of that.I'm not sure why it was removed, but if you could quickly explain why near-instant(It wasn't actually instant, you had to perform an action before you could feed) would be an issue? Well was it possible to move away from the action if someone was trying to force feed you? If no then it would be OP. If its instant then you have no defense against it. I'm only speculating though
cptCalavera
I belive it was removed because it made it possible to directly kill other players in non pvp games. I would like to see it come back as a pvp only feature though

If they are feeding you rapidly and you are stuck in place, eat something of your own and you can escape the stun.

I would like to see it come back as a pvp only feature though As far as I know, it was only enabled if the host had enabled PvP on the server, so that couldn't be the problem. Hmm, any other ideas why it's now gone?
cptCalavera
@Flare2V, Oh, I thought iot used to be in all game modes. Well then its something else. There was an issue with people feeding each other from far away. That could have something to do with it.

The Letter W
I didn't mind it even in friendly servers because if someone was using a Sleep Roll, another player could keep them fed so they could continue to raise their sanity instead of waking up and eating, and using more resources on the same thing. Can't say too much about PVP as that's not my thing, but I'm surprised the Deadly Feast isn't an available recipe in that situation... If thats the case then Im sure it will be re-added after they fix de-syncing issues from client to server.
Hellkitty
Can this be modded maybe? I'm just thinking maybe like a toggle instead. I just know from a personal experience, I almost died once on a non-pvp server because I was running away for my life and my friend fed me, (he was chasing me all over the place thinking he was helping me at the time, because I was hungry) so it forced me to stop and eat while getting hit a few times. lmao! - I don't believe lag was involved, I was just running in large circles around the campfire (was night). Isosurface
Aren't you the first person to effectively deny public access to a Klei-hosted server? What other brilliant anti-anti-griefing ideas have you got there?
Klaus13
Yes, they really should bring back force feeding. Also, instead of taking away the feature all together, they could have easily just add a server option to toggle force feeding, of have it toggled with pvp. This would allow both pvp and nonpvp players to be happy, without destroying pvp all together. Force feeding was a valuable aspect to pvp, and by taking it away, you are destroying the DST pvp community.

imsomony
I typically avoid PvP servers since that's not my thing, but I do get where you're coming from with this and agree. It's a viable and legitimate option for PvP, and for those in the community who want to participate in that manner of gameplay, disabling it unless a player is standing still has taken away a crucial strategy, considering players don't just stand there and take it when they're being attacked. I'm all for it being added back in for PvP-enabled servers.
