badimo
I have buffers at 10 seconds to lift the water but my water keeps randomly getting destroyed. I'm confused. I think I am following standard approaches I have seen many times before.

Sasza22
How many gasses are in that room? Try pumping all of them out and filling it with just one. Multiple gasses can make water flow wonky and get it deleted sometimes.
Nitroturtle
I had a tank do the exact same thing. In previous versions of the game, it had worked fine with the same design. Shouldn't be multple gasses, but could have possibly been O2/PO2 I guess.
Christophlette
@Sasza22 is right. If you get multiple gasses to keep your water from going up (it seems weird but gas can block liquids with only a few grams) it will be deleted. You can have only one gas in the room you want to make your critter killing machine or you can replace the tiles on the left and right by airflow tiles. It should keep your water from getting deleted.
Coolthulhu
Why are you using buffers and not filters? It looks like at the moment, all doors will close at the same time, then open at different times.

It should keep your water from getting deleted. Good suggestion. I tried adding airflow tiles on the left and right but water still got destroyed. I also don't see any other gasses besides oxygen. Could it be because I am always at 2k? I notice the room itself jumps well above 2k as the doors start to close. 20 hours ago, Neotuck said: What's the NOT gate for? I prefer to think about when I want something to die rather than when I want something to live. If anyone is interested, it looks like I solved my problem by removing the tiles between the two sets of automation doors entirely. It seems like water occasionally gets "nervous" if there isn't adjacent water to flow into when its current spot is eliminated. Because I was adding water to the room so slowly, there was never enough water to have adjacent water in the tile above. Now that the tank is full, I think I could probably add the middle tiles back, but I don't want to risk it. You folks should be happy to hear that I am now murdering hatches at record numbers night over night.
