Saturnus
Chance to drop certain egg types is related to body temperature and/or type of food. However, there's no way to completely eliminate the chance of other critter type egg dropping as there's always minimum 2% chance of each possible type. Sasza22
Tropical pacu have an increased chance in higher tempertures (i think it`s above 35oC). Keep the water cool and they will remain regular pacus for the most part. But there`s pretty much no difference between regular pacu and tropical (tropical gives more decor that`s it). Pufts are more complicated to ranch. It`s all dependent on the prince. If there`s a prince in the room the pufts will lay dense and squeaky eggs. If there is none the pufts will lay prince eggs. Only way to have only normal puft eggs is to have only the prince to lay eggs. Keep a few princes in one ranch and have them lay puft eggs that you move to the other ranch. Pufts from there will lay prince eggs. Crack most of them just keep a few to maintain the prince population. This way you will have 100% regular pufts. crypticorb
32 minutes ago, haralmpos said: my damm puffs keep changing to dense puffs snd my pachu to tropical im messing something up its happening too quickly There's no functional difference between any of the pacus for most purposes. Gulp fish get the ability to change polluted water to normal water, but if you keep them in clean water this is irrelevant. Tropical pacus are exactly the same as regular pacus in every way except a bit of extra decor. Pufts are annoying to get working, but if you follow what @Sasza22 described, and have an auto-wrangle critter dropoff in each room that has only the type of critter that room should have selected, ranchers will do the rest. I don't know about tamed gulp fishes but it's a huge difference. Sasza22
1 hour ago, Christophlette said: I remember wild gulp fish dying without laying an egg That happens only when the temperature is too high for the gulp fish to survive. There is still a 2% chance for a gulp fish egg when the temperature is above their livable range. Thanks for pointing that out. But WITH a prince in the room, pufts lay dense/squeaky eggs. The 'trick' is that Puft Princes kept together always lay puft eggs. So you have two ranches, one with princes to farm puft eggs and one with pufts for making slime....
