New Rocketry Building - the control room

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I feel that rockets should have a closed environment on bottom 3 sides to operate. I'm suggesting a building that has 2 outputs: ON output to give to the upper bunker doors and OFF to be given to the gallery and doors. Rocket will check if the room has any dupes before launching.

This building can be called the control room. The control room can have a third output exclusive for rockets signalling it to take off. The control room needs to be mandatorily connected with a meteor detector that's automatically configured (by the game) to track the rocket connected with the control room.

This allows automatic opening of upper doors even when there is a meteor storm happening.

All this gives this setup a more authentic feeling when launching a rocket. I feel that this building is a must have to launch rockets.

Currently it just feels weird to launch rockets. Its like pressing a button and the rocket goes up. Also, the dupe which we select to 'pilot' the rocket goes into the rocket immediately on selecting him. This logic feels weird too. Shouldn't a dupeanaut go in just before a countdown and shouldn't a person be tasked regularly to guide the rocket from the control panel when the rocket is in transit? or atleast during landing and takeoff?

Also, shouldn't there be life support system in the rocket? That's a really big flaw for a game about survival...

Of course ... I believe all this will be corrected in the coming stability/optimization/lore/content updates

You can do that with custom automation. I'm building a space port with ground control that has switches to operate rocket silo, refuel system, bunker doors, exhaust fume extraction and support for automated rocket landings. The plan is to hook those components up to the command capsule logic input and output.

+1 On the control room idea.

Before the countdown starts with 5-4-3-2-1 I would really really like it if a small animation plays on the countdown monitor, a Unicorn flying from the right to the left and then wobbling and shaking, flashing the monitor brightly. Then we can take notice "Ah ok, the Unicorn was played, the pre-countdown scene - The countdown will soon start and all is good". This will leave nice tingly bubble feelings, enhancing our life with true bliss and happiness.

I like this idea too! Maybe a large "building" like the rocket trainer (or whatever) with multiple automation inputs and outputs to garner finer control over the rockets! And maybe some fun animation like showing graphics of what the dups might be doing.

"This is one small step for a dup... one giant leap for ooze kind."
