SchlauFuchs
Hi, Those that have successfully brought rockets into space, can you share knowledge how to do it and what doesn't work? Traps to avoid? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96460-rocketry-what-you-need-to-know/ Share on other sites
SchlauFuchs
Here are some of my questions: Do rockets destroy Dry Wall, Tempshift plate, Mechanized Airlock when starting? What about natural tiles, like a tile of abysallite in its path? With what temperatures do I have to plan when they start? The game no longer allows you to do that. So bunkers doors have to be open, gantries retracted and there cannot be ladder tiles in their way, or anything else. backwall buildings are not an issue. Depending on the rocket, the gasses it emits are extremely hot, which can damage buildings with overheat temperatures or even melt buildings if the material used has a low enough melting point. I'm not sure exactly myself on the temperature emitted, but they are above 1,000°C. SchlauFuchs
is "in their way" exactly their width or is there a safety margin necessary? Is there a way to un-assign an astronaut from a rocket? I assigned him way before I had the fuel situation ready. Btw, you can find really good info about fuel and mileage on this page: A further tip would be to prioritize booster/engine research first. If you go too deep on the container research first, you will have a tough time reaching further planets for more research points. SchlauFuchs
what are the two logic ports on the command capsule for? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96460-rocketry-what-you-need-to-know/#findComment-1095006 Share on other sites

I believe the capsule can send a signal if the rocket is ready for launch (all points on the ckecklist are checked) but i don`t know what the other one does. nvzboy
The input can be used to enable or disable the launch. If you have some other reason to delay the launch automatically, this is how you would do it. It has a higher melting point than steel.
