honestly the only thing that bothers me and a few more about this "Random rnd = new Random();" selection is that we are afraid klei won't get what they want; feedback. The thing with first come first serve kinda showed who were the fans that were more of the die hard fans for the game, that really cared 'bout the game. Now that it is in fact random, chances for people that "play the game twice and forget about it" increases. Not to be mean, but this might end up as a flop, but we will see

I do not agree. There are plenty of way to be one of the first and not care that much about making the game better. There were a tweet about the sign-up, and you can follow Klei for things without being a die hard fan.

Same, some people will give the information to their friends or community, making some people that aren't die hard fan aware more quickly than some die hard fan that weren't expecting anything soon.

Also, there is nothing really better about a die hard fan, they can even be pretty toxic when they think they are superior.

Being a true hard fan doesn't mean that you'll give better feedback. Maybe you'll give more feedback, doesn't mean they will be more useful or of any quality.

Flooding Klei under feedback will not be of a better use than giving none.

Also, diversity is important. Having players with a lot of hours and knowing the game is important, having fresh players or players not as invested is important too. I'm sure Klei will not exclude them because their point of view could bring a lot of useful things.

Then, one last point : there is always the option, in a beta like this, to either :

- Make an Open Beta or an Early Access after this beta, when the feedback will be larger.

- Send a second or third wave of invitation if for any reason the first one isn't as succesful or helpful as it should. On a tw o week beta, you can easily invite again people in the second week if the information you have shows that it's needed. And i'm sure that Klei will watch it.
