tulkaz
Having trouble using liquid pump since temperature of crude oil exceed 125c. Currently I'm using radiator with petroleum to cool it but seems like it's not very efficient. Is there any other way to cool it? Saturnus
What is the throughput? If low enough you can try making one of these. It can pump liquid at any temperature, even magma because the pump is not physically in contact with the liquid at any point. In your case, would it be possible to leave it in pipes for immediate use? Pretty much the only time I ever let anything too hot to immediately repump out of my piping is when I'm actively melting an ice biome for water. If you can't keep it in pipes, yeah, some sort of radiator cooling is needed. Saturnus' link is a good read so I'd start there. PhailRaptor
There are some tricks for making pumps work with things that are too hot. tzionut
I put water over it... it take some heat and evaporate... then condense and take more heat until is under 125 degres.. then use a liquid valve and a sensor to separate...the oil from the water Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96009-how-do-you-deal-with-crude-oil-over-125c/#findComment-1089266 Share on other sites

I don't know exact reason but maybe heat of magma has been leaked from where there is no abyssalite/neutroleum or the heat of material I dug makes crude oil get hotter. Gurgel
I am cooling it with water in pipes that have low enough thermal transfer that the water does not get above 90C or so. I do have a polluted water vent with lots of Pwater at 30C right in the bottom layer though and that makes this very easy.
