Tenured Scientis without research

My Tenured scientist unfortunatly died.

I already completet all of the research, but i need one to analyze geysirs.

Is there any way to "train" an dupe other than through research?

Give them the job assignments and let them continue to do whatever they normally do.

You'll eventually train the job skill, it just takes a very long time if you're doing other things.

You don't need a tenured scientist to analyse a geyser anymore, a scientist will do. You just have to wait for the guy to master research assistant, which should not take that long.

this is a bit far fetched, but maybe the research skill is tied to tinker or operate since it involves interacting with a machine - it might be worth a shot to up the priority on the new trainee's operate and tinker skill and have them do those types of things in the meantime.

All jobs have a passive training level for doing any activity and an active training level for doing the actual job activity. 

Didn't know about the geyser change.  That's good to know, but you still need tenured for astronaut training don't you?

You need a tenured scientist for the telescope operation as well.

They need to be tenured AND master in exosuit engineering.

I've taken to having new dupes first master research assistant so that they can learn other skills faster.  Been done with research for a long time.
