Because we can't boil water with the tepidiser (lame... we have been able to boil and heat with coiled wire for a couple of hundred years), maybe some kind of ultraviolet liquid steriliser could be an option.

Because the water sieve doesn't also have a built in UV lamp, it could be a separate building or buildable lamp.

Ultraviolet lamps (I believe it is in the UV range) already exist for killing unwanted germs and pathogens in water. Heck, we had them for our pond way back when.

UV lamps would also keep the heat down, as heating and then cooling water is so cumbersome in the game, it is not worth it to sterilise water... especially as the sinks don't care if you use infected water to clean off infection (silly again).

You can stil boil water.

Tepdizer, bound to a logic collection made of buffer gate > not gate > filter gate. The tepedizer will alway start for a second, even if its over his max temp. That way you can even melt the tepdizer in time.

Suggested a hundred time before,
(yet, stil gonna give it a like beause it's a good idea and if they ever make a radiation update (iven ow many people are calling for nuclear power, who knows..) or an update of the light system, might be nice to have it as part of it.).

(Chlorine would be nice, yes, but seeing a gases disolving in water just aren't a thing in ONI, hhow would it be implemented ?)

Simple tile check: for water tile with some frequency on random check if tile above is chlorine gas, if so - kill some amount of bacteria in this water tile. similar work checking when polluted water release polluted oxygen: it check pressure of gas above, and release polluted oxygen if pressure <1.8kg, with some frequency on random.

I prefer nuclear radiation sterilisation ^^

That would be a nice feature. Uranium or somesuch. It requires refinement and special containment, and then can be used for nuclear power and sterilisation.
