only dupes running though the door will activate the switch, if the buffer is set to 10 sec and filter set to 11 seconds it never breaks

Say your building something behind your setup. Every time someone passes through that door and it closes all other dupes trying to deliver or build there will drop the stuff/try to look for new task. Doesn't mater if it's 0.1s. It breaks pathing.

Depends on busy the door is. If it leads into some rarely visited dead end room, no problem. If it's on a main corridor or an active build site, big problems.

will try this tonight, currently mine facing path finding problem

the water airlock kinda tricky to use, cos the area is cold, water might freeze into ice

Don't have to use water, can use crude oil, naphtha, and petroleum.  All have freezing points below -40C

Pretty sure i tried this before and there' always some gas that manages to get in
