You miss to use normal tile or pipe with abyssalite and obtain a maximum insulation? Be happy, Expressive Upgrade did it !

Check the thermal conductivity. ;)

I've reported this bug, so hurry up if you want benefit.

It's not a bug, just the way the game rounds things - up to 3 decimal places. If you try building a tile/pipe from abyssalite and hover over the "Insulator" buff, you will see the exact thermal conductivity - 0.00001(10^(-5)).

Besides, those numbers are meaningless if you don't know the exact formula with which they are used. And in ONI it's not very trivial.

Also there was no change to abyssalite, but how heat was calculated.

It used to be the lowest nominator that would decide the thermal transfer, but it got changed to be the average of the two.

So if you have something with 4 in thermal conductivity, and something with 0, like abys, then the thermal transfer will be 2 between those 2 objects.

Actually it's not exactly the average(it's log average, e.g. for abyssalite that means ~other_conductivity/10), and it depends between what objects the transfer is happening(tile-tile =/= pipe-outside =/= pipe-inside) . Also, insulated pipes/tiles DO keep their minimal rule. So it's a pretty big mess. :) Here is a recent discussion
