Tumalu
So it turns out plateless (no silver plates) is actually pretty simple! We tried to duo it and got to the last dish, but we ran out of time; it's simple, but there's a lot to do so you want 3 people. You most likely want Wes/Webber/Woodie. The discount is really helpful and you'll need a LOT of logs and seeds. It's not a bad way to win consistently, IMO, but it's a bit hectic. 1.Get a pot and 3 wheat packs. Someone farms, someone cooks, someone chops, as usual. Make Stone Soup! Farmer tills -everything- while waiting for poop bucket from chopper. You will use just about every single tillable spot by the end. 2.Use the free potatoes for potato soup if you get veggie craving on the second round. Otherwise feed a fistful of jam for 2, and potato soup on 3. Meanwhile Farmer speedgrows wheat and makes flour. 3.Buy an oven and make a jelly roll for Dessert round. 4.Buy the sugarwoods key, and use your money to get tree tapping started and a ton of tomato seeds. Like, all the tomato seeds you can carry. Plant -all of them-. Get a second cookpot if or when you have the money for it. Place both cookpots at the bottom so they're nearby. 5.From this point on you balance between making as much tomato soup as physically possible, keeping up with refining sap into syrup, and buying more tomato seeds. At first you'll need to fertilize tomatoes to get soup going quickly, later you'll have tomatoes maturing naturally a lot of the time... if you're planting enough! 6. More tomato soup for the tomato soup god. If he's not craving Dessert, then he's craving TOMATO SOUP! 7. Dessert Rounds! If you need Red Marks (which tomato soup can give on snack rounds), use Dessert round to make Pudding for a red mark. If you have red marks, make a Caramel Cube, Trifle, and Cheesecake in any order for your favors; the latter two will require buying the large casserole dish. Do not feed cheesecake on Cheese rounds, it will not gave a favor! You should only need 2 syrups. Your 3 initial wheat packs will give all the flour you need. Don't let The Gnaw go too long without eating (when not on a dessert round) as forcefeeding tomato soup is not godlike for keeping the timer up; fertilize freely to get enough tomato soup. And, you will most likely want to put up a salt rack or two when you have the free money later in the run, NOT for safe keys, but to salt food to help keep the timer up and to save a Favor Dessert that's been made stale due to spoiling milk. Cheesecake: Berries, Flour, 2 milk. Large Oven. Trifle: Berries, 2 flour, milk. Large Oven. Caramel Cube: Syrup, 2 milk. Cookpot. Pudding: Syrup, 2 flour. Oven. Jelly Roll: 2 berries, 1 flour. Oven. Tomato/Potato Soup or fistful of jam: 3 of that ingredient in cookpot Stone Soup: Easiest is berry/fern/stone. Cookpot.
orian34
Tomato doesn't give red marks, but pudding does on dessert rounds, so you just need to cycle enough to get milk and your favors! Works good!
Tumalu
Tomato Soup on snack rounds totally gives red marks, unless they changed it in a patch. But you can just cycle more times and get a little more flour and syrup to use 2 puddings, if necessary.
Extant
So tomato soup doesn't even need a silver bowl to receive a red mark when the craving is for snacks? That'd be helpful in saving time occasionally when RNG favors you.

It's possible they changed it, because I had to switch gears and go to pudding land when I noticed idling tomato soups wouldn't give me marks(I had given soup to all types of cravings)
Tumalu
Yeah, I think they really did patch it out. It didn't seem right, TBH, so I'm not surprised. Strat still works but you might consider just pumping carrot soup or something so you can get started faster? tomatoes give more money later but you'll drown in it, so... orian34
I guess tomato is better cause you have to pass the sugar trees to get the seeds.(meaning shortening the travel time AND not forgetting about them and rot)
Tumalu
Tomato also gives good money, but tbh you can probably make do with potato soup now too.

Loredore
just won plateless + the 18 dish one Spoiler basically our strat(not perfect or speedrun, just one strat) was actually make something to satisfy craving, but make the simplest dish in crockpot(& rarely oven) for speed between dessert rounds. Spoiler so stone soup(soup & snack), any veggie soup/roasted veggies(veggie), garlic bread/bread(bread), meatballs(meat), fish stew(fish), mac n cheese(cheese & pasta), spaghetti(pasta before we had leftover milk) fish 3 at a time for fish stew, can just buy meat for meatballs(3) and pasta(1) instead of chasing rabbits or bothering with bird trap for sustainability use potato in stone soup, but we didn't run out of berry or fern. if you've got a lot of sap(tap 6 trees and you will) candy is easy first dessert, or pudding as others have said wilson with crockpot efficiency for the in-between dishes & the syrup, and the other 2 characters seem fine being whatever, woodie/maxwell/wx and webber/winona. after the 3 safes, use the salt on every dish, it does repair the bar a tiny bit. we did EVERY dish, even dessert. if it's still not full green, you can use more than 1 salt on the same dish. really with what dishes we made you get by with just cookpot and big oven, so the safes arent even necessary, just buy the stuff & use the salt for more time

4399DoIt
Hey Tumalu, I found you! Well anyway, some things: Berry tart instead of pudding on round 8 is better because you use 1 less flour, because if you make pudding, then you will need a total of 7 flour, which means you have to get 4 wheat seed packs. I guess you can make fistful of jam on round 4 for the sapphire, though, to use 1 less flour. Pretty sure you can't get multiple favors from the same food, so thats why you need to make different desserts for the favors. Well anyway, making cheesecake for a favor is kind of bad because it needs 2 milk instead of 1, making scone on a big grill is a lot better, it only needs 1 milk. Also, caramel cube can also be made with 2 syrup 1 milk, using 1 less milk. If you make scone instead of cheesecake, and then caramel cube with 1 milk 2 syrup, and then trifle, you only need 3 milk in total, so you don't need to wait another dessert round to get another red mark. Also, you only need 3 syrup in total, so after they are all made, the sap can be used for fuel. Scone is 1 berry, 2 flour, 1 milk, same recipe as trifle, but in big grill. Berry tart is 1 berry, 1 flour, 1 syrup in oven. Here's the list of everything that needs to be bought in this run (not too specifically in order) 2 Cookpot Kits 3 Wheat Seed Packs (Blue) Oven Kit Salt Rack Gate Key (obviously) 12 Tomato Seed Packs probably (Spikey) At least 3 Tree Tappers (1 purchase gives 3) Syrup Pot Large Oven Pot Large Grill
