Neotuck
Until we get a better way of producing algae to feed pacus I wouldn't waste my time taming them PO2 > Puft poo > distiller setups are not effective enough Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92034-pacu-2-fish/#findComment-1050529 Share on other sites
DyingCrow
They look cute I dropped a bunch in the water tank, keeping the population alive till i have usable glass. Then ill build an aquarium 3 floors high with as many fish as i can cram there, with tons of pictures and statues, along the main access shaft. The decor value should go through the roof, dupes will love to see all that as they get off bed and go off to the chaos. In the meanwhile, theyre a passive source of meat and egg shells with no effort. At least for now. Just leaving them there will be useful later for steel. leoroy
About pacu, got a strange bug (I think) : a put one in a more than 12 tiles aquarium (open, no room), but it gets the overcrowded debuff multiple times in a cycles... Any one experience this? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92034-pacu-2-fish/#findComment-1050546 Share on other sites

Any one experience this? 8 tiles of water per Pacu I believe, and I'm not sure if this is new or not, but you get tamed Pacus by incubating them. I dont know if wild ones need 8 tiles or not, but tame ones do, Being inside the stable doesnt seem to make a difference Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92034-pacu-2-fish/#findComment-1050560 Share on other sites
0xFADE
I remember reading about shine bugs not producing light when crowded. They must have also had this apply to pacu. The debuff appears to happen when they are in close proximity to other pacu as they will go in and out of crowded. Used to be able to have all of them in one tank but not anymore. Zeraiya
Like everyone's said, I think they are only useful for food at the moment... however, that's not going to stop me from making an aquarium for them. I like the little fishies! Having said that, I know that the Paku have 2 variants (I think it's 2?)... and I don't know what those variants do. Perhaps those are worth the effort put in? I can't find any information on the wiki about the variant Paku, it's all just ??? C-mers
I use Pacus as my source of lime sine its 2kg ever cycle and a half when tame. Plus, the Gulp Fish will convert polluted H2O into pure H20 for nothing other than keeping it alive, even if it's glum (but I haven't seen how much water it filters per cycle). As for Tropical Pacus, they're just good for more decor value, which could be nice for your gas/petrol plants where Polluted H20 accumulates and décor is otherwise horrific. They have a higher Decor rating, that reaches a longer distance than the other Pacu. And.. that's it. Gulp Fish dwell in much lower temperatures. They also will convert 200 g/s of P-H2O to H2O. It doesn't sound like a lot, but with 600 seconds per cycle that's 120 kg/cycle. Per Gulp Fish. I like putting gulp fish under a slush geyser The fish will "poop" -10C ice which is easy to pick up with a sweeper for nice cold water production Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92034-pacu-2-fish/#findComment-1054244 Share on other sites

The ice will heat up 3x faster than the polluted water. The point is that you can separate clean water from polluted quickly without a filter Coolant is a separate issue Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92034-pacu-2-fish/#findComment-1054306 Share on other sites
