DyingCrow
This happened with build CU-273263 Just had a whole section of pipes and valves explode out of nowhere, again :/ This is a normal run, no debug and no sandbox, used CTRL+F4 a few times to solve incredibly frustrating issues related to this issue, that could not be solved with reloads. I feel pipe shenanigans have become way worse with the last couple updates, but could just be perception. Some of the CTD and game freezes ive been having regularly seem heavily related to pipe issues. When will this be addressed :/ Before explosion After explosion Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91852-exploding-pipes-coldheat-damage-ransom-issues-becoming-more-common/ Share on other sites
neoazureus
I do not what is happening there, it has never happened to me. But ... ctrl + f4 is a command control to debug mode. So you are using debug mode (?) I read that similar problems happen with debug mode Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91852-exploding-pipes-coldheat-damage-ransom-issues-becoming-more-common/#findComment-1048873 Share on other sites
BlueLance
It is a debug related issue, There has been no posts about it happening outside of debug, I have had it happen before. But like Neo said, Ctrl F4 IS DEBUG lol its the instant command. Backspace is only the GUI command. DyingCrow
I activated debug briefly to solve some really frustrating issues related to the post title, that started happening when debug was never used on the run, and reloading didnt fix, thats what i meant. When this happened, debug was not activated. Ive gotten used to exploding stuff in debug, but in many other normal runs where i briefly used debug to solve bad planning issues, ive never had exploding pipes. In this run, the few times i used debug was to solve issues related to nonsensical heat/cold damage, that actually started happening quite early, and i just didnt want to deal with it the "normal" way just to have it happen somewhere else. Its quite frustrating, after hundreds of hours dealing with it over and over :/ Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91852-exploding-pipes-coldheat-damage-ransom-issues-becoming-more-common/#findComment-1048979 Share on other sites
Kabrute
Actually we tracked it to a layer issue occurring outside debug most commonly when a building produces gas in a tile occupied by to many layers of construction Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91852-exploding-pipes-coldheat-damage-ransom-issues-becoming-more-common/#findComment-1048982 Share on other sites

DyingCrow
It happened again, in the same spot, but in a much, much larger scale. Again, debug was not activated. That spot was the spot with the highest temperature. Closeup of the affected area. Ground zero was the upright valve. When the sudden explosion happened, the pipes connecting to it were completely empty. Another interesting fact is the water on the ground. It literally spawned out of nowhere. Its clear in the picture that there is no way it could have came out of a broken pipe, because there is none. If so, it would have shown on the second picture. As for a chance a dupe might have repaired it, its is extremely unlikely. I have 2 broken generators a bit below that have been broken for more then just a few cycles now, which have sub priority 9 (first picture, the 2 gens right at the bottom of the picture). It just doesnt happen that something breaks and instantly gets repaired by a passing dupe. Things are just getting a lot weirder on this run. Kabrute
This is definitely a different bug, that thermal jump is way too intense Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91852-exploding-pipes-coldheat-damage-ransom-issues-becoming-more-common/#findComment-1049036 Share on other sites
DyingCrow
Im attaching the save, just in case someone wants to have a look. I can almost guarantee it will happen again. Another thing that has been happening constantly is game freezing. All it takes is build a few pipes in the general area, and wait a bit, 50/50 chance game will rip. Perfect Paradise.sav 8 minutes ago, Kabrute said: This is definitely a different bug, that thermal jump is way too intense I wouldnt be surprised if it was what you mentioned regarding multiple layers of construction. Theres quite a bit of pipe spaghetti in such small area. Lutzkhie
this is probably a debug mode issue, before the radiant pipes were implemented into the game using ctrl+f4 and building pipes causes them to break due to extremely cold temperature (the water changes state rapidly), now building radiant pipes with debug mode cause extremely hot temperature, Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91852-exploding-pipes-coldheat-damage-ransom-issues-becoming-more-common/#findComment-1049230 Share on other sites

Carnis
Im also struggling with this bug, I have a debug-built radiant pipe segment sitting under 310 degrees natural gas next to a 400 degrees mechanical door jump randomly to 260 degrees, deleting massive amounts of heat.
