SchlauFuchs
Hi, Do we have a table showing how much heat energy a Metal Refinery adds to its coolant per recipe? To how much coolant is it applied? I want to add some data about it to the wiki. Cheers, SF Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91525-metal-refinery-heat-data/ Share on other sites

SchlauFuchs
Thanks, that is half way what I needed. The table shows the temperature rise of some liquids, but I need to know how much liquid coolant passes the Metal Refinery per recipe execution and how much energy is added to the coolant by each recipe... Lilalaunekuh
The refinery takes 400Kg of coolant and the added energy is shown ingame (or could be calculated with the info in the posted thread) Something else you might need ? 0xFADE
Isn't it 800kg. Those numbers probably directly relate to the heat capacity of the liquid. Lilalaunekuh
The metal refinery can store 800Kg of liquid and uses 400Kg to produce 100Kg refined metal. 0xFADE
Ah yeah, that would explain why i'd seen it run before it had fully refilled. The heat change IS based on the thermal capacity. Most likely the chart did some rounding. Each value was around 133 after multiplying the increase by the thermal capacity. Anyway Divide about 133 from the thermal capacity of the coolant and that is how much the temperature will change. So since molten glass has such a low capacity it should go up by about 665 degrees if you used it. SchlauFuchs
ok thanks, I will check if I see the data in the game now. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91525-metal-refinery-heat-data/#findComment-1043060 Share on other sites

0xFADE
Yeah, there is probably some math that translates the heat kg in to the thermal capacity Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91525-metal-refinery-heat-data/#findComment-1043068 Share on other sites
SchlauFuchs
I do not see all the possible Metal Refinery Recipes at the moment in the game, could you look up for me? 0xFADE
gold is 13.2 copper is 40.2 tungsten is 45.3 Looks like the value is doubled for whatever is going on. I was looking at the 32,1 and not considering the comma was a decimal place 32.1(c) * 4.179(water) = 134.1459 67.1*2 = 134.2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91525-metal-refinery-heat-data/#findComment-1043075 Share on other sites
SchlauFuchs
yes gold and copper I can confirm. what about steel? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91525-metal-refinery-heat-data/#findComment-1043077 Share on other sites
0xFADE
Don't have steel yet. Double the heat kg and divide by the thermal capacity for the increase in c looks like it works for those. SchlauFuchs
great, I will put things together now The Metal Refinery ingame database mentions a few more recipies, but I think we can ignore stuff that exists only in debug mode Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91525-metal-refinery-heat-data/#findComment-1043089 Share on other sites

SchlauFuchs
Doesn't the heat of the coolant heat up the refinery when not in use? Or break the pipes if sitting in there for too long? what is that second gold recipe there in your screenshot?
