Saludos a todos (Hello all)

I have been a gamer ever since I have memory, and when I find a truly ingenious strategic game I simply can't stop playing it, like surely happens to all at some point. Happened with Dungeons of Dreadmor, Prison Architect, SPAZ and others. But Oxygen Not included is the first game I've got in Beta state.

I am very very curious, how long will it remain in this state. To this point I feel like these "updates" are like expansions, and that it could go on forever. I do love the game, but every month or so my old base is obsolete or does not include new things. I can live with that, the thrill of new challenges are great, but I am going to get philosophical about it, why are my dupes there, are the dupes real or adn clones of long lost civilizations? What is our objective beside survive? Will be ever be rescued? I know these are the last things that will be implemented before the game officially launched but it seems it may continue for another couple of years. I believe the game is very robust right now, there will always be room for upgrades as it goes, but having an endgame would be fantastic.

Although I do love the mystery of not knowing. Maybe our only goal is to assemble a funcional space rocket and continue our voyage to the truly intended destination.

Who knows, maybe we are just adn and ooze. Nothing more.

I'd like some kind of mechanic to escape to a new map with an experienced crew, rather than having to start over every time.

Really like that idea, a New Game+ where things work a little differently, maybe some properties change or elements that aren't present otherwise.

If there was a method of escape (hope not), I'd prefer it be difficult and take a fair bit of time. Longer than 500 cycles. That time limit could be enforced by geological events such as the asteroid cracking open over time.

im looking forward for the "your asteroid your rule" similar to dont starves' "your world your rule"
it can help new players to quickly learn the basics of the games and transitioning to other builds

also if your very curious go here:
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\OxygenNotIncluded\OxygenNotIncluded_Data\StreamingAssets\codex
and open the "notices" and "email" folder and open every file with notepad, youll find something very interesting about the previous inhabitants of the asteroid

You should post this idea in the "Suggestions and Feedback" folder for Klei, I love this idea!

Yeah! Maybe we are navigating in an asteroid belt looking trying to survive one asteroid at the time. Or those asteroids are remnants of their destroyed planet. That would be awesome, newgame +++++++

I was thinking about the same. Like choosing from a selection of two or three other asteroids with special conditions (very hot, very cold, very wet, very germy, very dangerous etc.). And you can only take 6 crew members with you and a selection of some materials. After two other asteroids they should find their home planet.

I never got past day 10 in Don't Starve :( But ONI actually made me look for help and guides so I got good at it. Well, good for a non-hardcore player.

Anyways, back to topic. How long till the game is officially released? Now that there is a codex, that may be closer than it seems

Past day 10...*Starts Sweating Profusely*

Anyways, I'm pretty sure the game is quite a ways away from a full release. My guess, maybe late 2019 to mid-2020. Then again I'm sort-of shooting in the dark. :drunk:

I'd like to be able to take as many crew as needed... After all, you have to feed and oxygenate them all from scratch, with no base.

Those first few times you make it to day 10 and then hear the barking of your impending doom....

I've gotten to the point I can last multiple in game years in vanilla/Shipwrecked compatible, but RoG kicks my butt.
