search for egg micro management

During this ranching II preview, I facing some issue with the egg, MY DUPLICANT TOOK MY SAGE HATCH EGG TO COOK !!

My question is:

When 1 stable with 8 hatch pop out 1 egg, 8 hatch pop out a status name "expect" when the egg inside stable, then they stop producing. I need to move the egg somewhere else. is there place to put my egg so i can keep a eye on them? i dont want to keep them inside fridge, bcos that will cause lagging when u try to look on the fridge when its full of egg.

Hope to get a design without too complicated automation that will solve my problem in case my automation level very weak.

Theoretically,  just lock your cook out of the stables and only allow your cook into the room with the grill. You can then deliver the types of eggs you want cooked to a fridge, and since your cook is the only one who can supply the grill  he'll take from the fridge instead of stealing eggs from the stable

edit: didnt fully read the question, whats the issue with fridges?  you can just cap the capacity if theyre storing too many.  or use extra ones at higher priority inside the stable if you always want to 'save' some eggs.  I really do wish you could set an incubator on continuous though.

my thought is like this, when hatch die off, the sweeper will take meat, then nothing will trigger weight plate, then i have not idea dy, i dont know how to make fridge drop the egg to stable. any idea ?

I cant leave any egg inside stable, it make all hatches in single stable pop out status "Expecting" which my whole stable will stop production for 20 cycle to wait for incubation period.

Well....all i can say is.....that IS GENIUS! then all you need to do is store the eggs you wanna hatch in the room or another room that the chef also cannot access. I will be doing that so....YOINK

Could build the floor of your stable with pnuematic doors, all the eggs will just fall thru to the room below.

unfortunately theres no way i know of to make a sweeper drop something on the floor. if you use the fridge method,  eggs continue to incubate in the fridge they just dont hatch until theyre dropped so you could store it above an open door on the roof of the stable and just drop the egg out when you need a new hatch

Don't know if it still works though.

Nice.  Didnt even think about interrupting the sweeper during transfer. you could definitely do it with something similar to that if it still functions that way. Maybe you could just use the automation signal from the fridge to 'turn off' the sweeper even

I have seen other dupes besides the cook supply ingredients to the electric grill so I don't think this will work

Little hint: it's better to let the eggs hatch into hatchlings, then grow up into hatches.

They don't need to eat until they grow up, then you can drown them for 3200 kcal and cook that into 4000 kcal + soul food buff.

Though that requires some crafty engineering, as eggs generally don't hatch when inside a fridge. I recall someone making an "item dropper" mechanism by turning off a sweeper arm when it's carrying an item.

The happy herd of hatchlings haunting my kitchen begs to differ. I don't even have a stable, this is just from foraging-and-not-cooking.

That "generally" part is important.

Saving+loading currently lets things hatch, but if you want to leave the game running, you'll need to micromanage the fridge or empty it to get them to hatch.

Dont hatches eat a set amount of food and produce a certain amount? Someone with some maths skills could determine how much a hatch produces in its lifetime then set a storage for that amount. When its full it gets activated and you know the hatch will most likely die soon. Maybe some logic gates can work with that somehow?
