SchlauFuchs
Hi, How is grooming Pacu's working, do I need to have an underwater grooming station? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/90050-grooming-pacus/ Share on other sites
Risu
The last update supposedly gave the fish feeder grooming properties but I haven't tested it yet. SchlauFuchs
in build 265092 the feeder doesn't do anything, all my Pacu are wild things and stay so. Looks like the feeder was not feeding. When I emptied the storage, the hungry critters came quickly to eat Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/90050-grooming-pacus/#findComment-1028446 Share on other sites
Risu
Okay just had a Pacu take some food from feeder and it got a buff for -20% wildness for 1 cycle. Gonna take 5 or 6 cycles and feedings to tame it then. Edit: the deciding factor is how often the Pacu gets hungry. Net change is -10% wildness every feeding, they eat every 2 cycles, so 20 cycles. Edit 2: FINALLY got one to tame status and I've found a major flaw: Pacu don't gain happiness from the feeder. Due to the -1 Happiness from being Tame, it will be forever Glum, which means it will never produce eggs again after becoming tame. PhailRaptor
I remember they said outright on the stream that you can't bring a Pacu to a Grooming Station. You know... since they're a fish. malloc
What happens when a wild fish egg completes incubation on land? I drained an area and there has been an egg slowly incubating sitting on a tile of slime. Guessing it will insta-meat upon 'hatching' ?? We'll soon find out ... Most likely it will attempt to flop it's way toward the nearest water source, if one is pathable. If you watch the gif at the bottom of the preview announcement page, you can see how they move on land. I would imagine in the final build of Ranch Mk2, Pacu will die if out of water too long, but on whatever build the dev stream was run on they did not appear to die from lack of liquid. So we'll have to wait and see. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/90050-grooming-pacus/#findComment-1028802 Share on other sites
