Hello duplicants!

I'm Joshua, and welcome to my first post!

You may ask me: "Why did you created this Topic?"

Welp. The awser is quite simple. 

The reason i created this Topic. Was to To gather pelope who likes Oxygen Not Included, and make some Theories about what's happening in the universe of the game.

I even made some questions myself like:

"How the Duplicant machine works?"

"How the duplicants are created?"

"What are the Ruins?"

"Duplicant Language?"

"How the universe works in the game?"

"How duplicants get the Utility weapons?"

"Who came before them?"

"Who or What is the Player?"

Aw...Geez...So many questions...

I like to belive that originally the entire asteroid was a space station and that it was some kind of experiment with the printer gone catastrophically wrong that "overwrote" all but a few pockets (ruins) with what has now been dubbed the asteroid.

First of all, we don't know that Dupes are human, they don't have to come from Earth (but it's most likely), the printing pod was most likely the last big project of the Gravitas facility before whatever catastrophe happened inside the facility and killed all of the inhabitants inside, the pod was a way for people to survive many generations during interstellar travels, it would scan people's brains and recreate them esentially giving them immortality and a few members must have scanned their brains into the machine before they all died but they didn't have time to calibrate the machine so when they do get recreated their bodies are not the same as before (and that's why dupes have random stats), and then the pod went dormant for an undetermined amount of years, I assume it would be a long time.

The asteroid has a lot of water and organic matter, and that could have ended up the in a couple ways, maybe a planet exploded and sent big chunks of rock, water and organics into space and that formed a big asteroid (very unlikely), or maybe a huge asteroid impacted a planet and and the impact sent rocks, organics and water into space (we found some Mars rocks on Earth, look it up), or most likely those things were all brought by the scientists on to the asteroid because they planned to keep the top secret Gravitas facility running for a long time and would just grow all the food up there, but after the incident the plants and animals must have evolved to survive in the asteroid.

The asteroid must be in a stable orbit around it's parent star because of regulat day/night cycles (although I expect changes to length of any and all of those values in future updates), the asteroid must be close enough to the star to melt a part of it and those heated metals, rocks and gasses and liquids rise up and spew out in geysers and volcanoes.

Edit: The multitools might be printed along side with the Dupes, just like their clothes.                                                                                             And I have no idea how there is gravity inside.

Edit2: You can think of every single game that was, is and will be played as a parallel universe.

Let me tell you a little story:

Once upon a time, Charlie (from Don't Starve Together) decided to make something interesting; She made little cute characters out of her own image in a simulation world, and made a printing pod to replicate them.

Duplicants are all made out of genetic ooze, which Charlie made in the first six days.

The duplicant universe is randomly (or not so randomly if you believe in Charlie) generated and is managed by players.

Utility weapons are a bio-defensive system made into their genetic ooze.

We don't really know who came before them

What players are to duplicants are as what greek gods were to ancient greeks.

 

 

The legend says first ever dupe Charlie made was Meep and others are made from duplicating him.
