How to make dups to put on clothes?

Recommended Posts

I got them to in a couple cycles by assigning the suit, setting the suit to priority 9 sweep, having NO place to store the suit, and then setting Tidy on that dupe to highest priority.  After dupe finally put on the suit, I reset their Tidy back to whatever it was.  I know some have had success sweeping the suit to a storage unit inside a locked room and locking the dupe in the room manually setting the door permissions so the dupe can go in but not back out.

I have made a "dressing room" in my colony to handle the problem with resetting my precious hand crafted priorities:

(Note that it just works cause toogle is on the highest priority and just compete with their own job.)

Make a room with a valve or an arbitrary switch just to generate a high priority task inside. Set you door so that everyone can leave the room but nobody can enter it. Build a weight plate behind the entrance (using a buffer and not gate) to seal my room for a short time.

Usage:

a)Reset your switch inside your dressing room and let the dupes you want to dress enter the room using the door restrictions.

b)Don´t restrict the door setting and don´t use a switch inside. Now just move someone in via dupe selcetion and while he has nothing better to do inside he will get dressed ;)

I lock my base, as I have 4 doors I could lock to not let dups out. They stay inside for 2 days and after I toggle assign clothes 4 more dups put them on. 4 more refuse. That must be a bug, I believe clothes should change the same way as jobs. It should not bee that painful.

?? I have fine tune priority of jobs of my dups. That is a lot of work to restore it back. There should be a better way.

fine tune in the sense that the dup you want to put on cloths may never do it because he is having to do higher priority things.  For example, if "dig" is set to the highest and everything else default, and you have ANY dig orders, that dup will never get dressed.

I would think it would be easier to set up a dressing room, put only a storage unit with clothes in it, set the door priority to only let dupe in and not back out.  Assign the clothes, use the "move to" command to move the dupe into the room, when he cannot access any other task, he should put on the clothes, you may have to dump the clothes on the ground and then set "sweep" on them, but so far they've put them on for me.  Doing this you don't have to change anything on their priority screen.    YMMV seems rather buggy.

At the end of the day, I found a reasonably easy way to force a dupe to put on Clothes.

I put storage in my airlock, swept them into that storage then drop and assign dupe. Then order dupe to run in why prohibit him to use opposite door and make door he running try one way. Dupe will run in and put clothes on and then I restore his access to both doors.
