stop using my damn tungsten

Recommended Posts

Perhaps with the smart storage, i don't know how it's work. Sure you will be angry

Or use a dupe checkpoint (but dupe checkpoint is useless if no powered)

Or auto sweeper to put it in a close room and another autosweeper to get it out and desactivate the manual use on the receptacle

What exactly is the increased power output? I never felt the need to actually use the control station - not needed in the early cycles, not useful in late with a giant generator room. The cost of random refined metal makes it even less tempting to use.

it increase your output by 50%

Manual generator 400 W become a 600 W gen for the same use

Coal gen 600 W become a 900 W gen for the same amount of coal

Hydrogen and gas gen 800 W become 1200 W for the same amount of gas

petroleum 1200 W become 1800 W

steam turbine 2000 W become 3000 W

It's quite useful actually. It increases power 50% without increasing the consumption. Great for saving coal early and middle game, till you set up NG factory or slickster farm. The metal cost is very low. 5kg metal per generator is enough for 3 cycles. You won't even notice

Still, its very useful. I really like the improvements.  It means that I can power my early base off coal without worrying about filling up with heat or CO2.  Lately I've run some pretty decent bases almost exclusively off hydrogen.  The increased power output means that even if you design your electrolyzer layout badly, you can still run the whole thing off the hydrogen it produces.

Sure. Still, it's the cost of one automation wire link. Vs 14.4 tons of Tungsten...

Yeah sure, i just add the precision for Vilda who never use power station and i prefer that my dupe made microchips with iron or copper than tungsten

How about using shipping? You could ship the metals you would like to be used. If the stations are full, then no metal will be delivered either.

One arm with a container set to 500kg next to the station should be enough.

if you want to use only one type of refined metal, autosweeper could be a answer, but you will have a lot of refined metal stuck on the rail

no need to use rails ? - And it is possible to have more then 1 resource on the rails, you just need to use automation to shift between the resources.

3 input shipping containers, and a timer circuit to activate one for 5 secs at a time. now you have 3 different kinds of stuff on your rails.

Could be a good idea

Or a door with permissions..

door with permission will **** with you. for one you wont be able to see the resources (in your resource overview) if no dupe has access to it, and then there is the fact there wont be build with it either.

the idea is that 1 dupe, the engineer, can't get into That storage but everyone else can, and the engineer is the only one who Can get throught he power room door.

thus noe futzing with visuals or buildables :)

sure, if you're okay with your engineers running supply jobs instead of doing what they are supposed to do.

But i think that as soon you have access to shipping then you should also do your most to use it where you can.

sooooo did not expect it to be that big o.o

at any rate if you don't want your egineer running supplies on the one system he is supposed to be maintaining thats totally your choice.  This game is awesome because everyone can play how they like, specialized or super dupers its all up to the players

You can, when you want.
Shipping so far, was never needed in my playthroughs. Sure a nice game addition and when someone likes it, why not, but for me, they are not needed. Same tor Tubes.
I run bases with <10 Dupes (could run >25) but even with 5 there are always idle dupes, standing around.

thanks for info. That's pretty weaksauce buff, given the amount of coal the hatches produce and the need to build actual room for it.
