Radiator (new heat exchange idea)

It will be awesome if there is a radiator.
Just a 2x2 heat exchange item, that can extract heat from a liquid and spread it in the air.

I have some "radiator" made by pipes, but they are not so effective and cool looking.

I made some drawing how I imagine it.

not new by any stretch,  running your pipe through a metal tile then placing a tempshiftplate next to it, has this exact effect with smaller foot print and larger area of effect....

The issue with that is that your dupes can't walk through a metal tile.  The metal tile has negative effects, like blocking decor from statues and paintings as well.  I assume your dupes could walk and see through the radiator like any other building.

Put the metal tile in the floor where the pipe runs through it, dupes already walk on it, and the op is already using solid tiles.  Use the temp shift plate as your "radiator" block to spread the temps where you want it.

This is a very reasonable building and something conceptually similar is needed. A pipe in a tile is NOT equivalent as a pipe has constraints on it's contact-area with anything else.  An alternative but very similar proposal was for a radiator pipe segment itself which acts as a foil to insulated pipe.

This works, but it requires you to have a metal tile on your floor.  I build my floors out of airflow or mesh tiles so that I can double-dip on the paintings and have easy airflow.  The metal tiles would interfere.  Then again, I don't need to put it on the floor.  I could put it on a wall.

alternatively, spot placement of a metal tile in an airflow/mesh run wouldn't necessarily interfere with decor, only long runs of it....

What would be really cool is an actual HVAC system that pressurizes the vapor into a liquid so that even though it is a normal temperature, its a liquid.  Then, you release the pressure and it absorbs all the heat as it converts back to a vapor.

So pressured liquid lines with pressured vapor returns.  Think...

currently transition states break pipelines however what you describe/show is in effect the aquatuner/thermoregulator which moves heat from pipelines and puts it in itself/its surroundings.  Same effect from different physics system.

Currently the heat is more an annoyance than beneficial, but this idea could be nice if you start in a cold map area (like helicona) and you need indeed heat in order to survive.

Make HEAT great again.

If you made this radiator in gas tile with cold/hot hydrogen, you can use wolframite rather than granite for your normal pipe for better heat exchange

All this stuff is already there one way or the other. You just have to be creative, which is the most appealing feature in the game.

From the visuals part, i would support some nice radiators, to replace "pipesnakes".
Whole base is a radiator ^^

And put a potted plant in front of the tempshift plate and on top of the metal tile.
