Just some funny ideas:

Microbe Musher

Protein Bar (meat + egg)... " The breakfast of champions! "

Electric Grill

Moldy Bread (sleet wheat + dust cap) ....." Now with penicillin! "

Berry Surprise (bristle berry + meal lice) ....." There's a worm in my fruit! "

Mystery Stew (dust cap + meal lice) ....." Taste better if you don't ask what's in it! "

Fire Shroom (dust cap + pincha peppernut) ..... " Drink water to avoid spontaneous combustion! "

Redneck Delicacy (mush bar + rot pile) ..... " Pinch nose while eating to prevent vomiting! "

Feel free to add your suggestions to the list :D

I'd love to see a couple of options using different sets of ingredients for each tier.  I would also like it if mealwood had a mid/ late game use.

Agreed, seems the only use of mealwood late game is turning it into Pickeled Meal and storing it long term as an emergency food source

I would like to see the current egg recipe replaced with egg recipes that involve plants because I don't want ranching to replace farming.

For example:

Pancakes:  Sleet Wheat, egg(s), and a bristle berry.

Vegetarian omelet:  Eggs and a dusk cap.

Meat omelet:  Meat, eggs, and a dusk cap (higher quality).

Well after the last patch you get a limited amount of critters per stable and it it takes a long time to produce eggs so I don't think it will be replacing farming

I understand you're trying to be funny, but this one is simply not.  I am completely unappreciative of this derogatory, bordering on bigoted, remark.

Every one has a different sense of humor.  I'm assuming you don't know what a redneck is as we like to make fun of ourselves.  Just watch some Jeff Foxworthy to see what I mean

i wonder if per cycles cooking would be a great addition, for example you want to cook only 4 gristle berry every cycle, that would minimize food spoilage plus prevent too much heat from grills

might be possible using a clock sensor if you calculate how long it takes your chef to cook 4 gristle berries

i tried that once on doors, but they sometime got locked in, then i tried on the wire coz grills dont have automation but sometimes dupes are busy on other stuff and they just ignore them

Most likely it will have to be a combo of 2 switches, a pressure switch below the grill and a clock switch.  In the picture the clock is set to be active 99% of the cycle only turning off at night.  When a dupe stands on the pressure switch long enough for the signal to pass the filter gate (calculate time for how long you want your chef to be cooking) then with the signals from both clock and pressure on the AND gate will turn power off to the grill.  The signal will bounce back though a buffer gate (0.1s) to keep the power off until the clock turns off at the start of the night cycle. (note: food will also activate the pressure switch so you might want to have a sweeper load them into a nearby fridge)20180317060107_1.thumb.jpg.7447bcaa378571d06d0f4f47107fc90c.jpg

This is after the pressure plate has been active long enough for the filter gate

This is not perfect as this depends on your chef not stopping to go to the bathroom or eating while cooking.  This might be fixed if the signal from the pressure plate also keeps the doors locked preventing your chef from leaving until the job is done

Ideally, to perform this elaborate Automation dance, you'd use a Fridge set to a specific quantity of the specific food.  When it is full (after the Automation bug has been fixed....) the Fridge will put out the Logic signal, which you transform through a NOT to trigger the Power Shutoff.

Unfortunately, that approach is also rather problematic, because it is cumbersome to scale.  If you are mixing foods, you can't use the same Grill for the different recipes, so you have to build them in parallel with their own separate Automation grids.  It also can be clumsy based on the raw quantity you are trying to cook of a given food, as it may take multiple Fridges to store that quantity, which means AND gates before the NOT.

I think an ultimately more inclusive solution would be to rework the way building production queues work.  Or a new tech to do with computing, that creates an Automation building allowing you to set up more elaborate recipe queues, let you repeat them, etc.
