Updated Hatch Stable design

Recommended Posts

with the new patch I was able to make a workable stable.  The whole room is 96 tiles so I can have 8 hatches without getting overcrowded.  The bottom is 9 tiles wide so the sweeper can reach any coal/eggs dropped.  I enclosed 2 loaders (one for eggs and one for coal) in pneumatic doors so the "industrial machinery" doesn't cause a debuff to the room.  And I used all the extra space for compactors so it won't be wasted space.  I'm sure this design can be improved feel free to tell me what you think :p20180314200852_1.thumb.jpg.4570108fa1814ae3fccd780b565f514e.jpg

This is an example of why I think the change to disallow sweepers from reaching through tiles was ill-advised. You just end up with this kind of goofy workaround. Is this really "better" in any measurable way than letting you put the loaders underneath the floor/on the other side of a wall?

Tangential gripes aside, your design seems fine. You could fit some more compactors in there if you really want to optimize space usage I suppose.

what is the rate for the overcrowded?

is 8 hatches the most you can get?

If you look at the patch notes someone did the math, I think it was 12 tiles per hatch, 96 tiles is the biggest the room can go.

@Neotuck Can they now pick up eggs as well? and can they be stored.

yes they now count as a "cooking ingredient" so they can be stored in refrigerators
