ocupational upgrade - heat damaging pipes

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I had a design, copied from these forums for a 4x6 enclosure for a pump, electrolyzer and filter.  Used to work a treat.

Built one in a new game and now, when I try to pump Hydrogen via a pipe (made from anything, including abyssallite) and passing through a wall the pipe breaks due to heat as soon as the first hydrogen packet passed into it.

If I re-route the pipe to pass through the door, then this no longer happens to the hydrogen pipe (regardless of what I make it out of) , but then the oxygen pipe, which had always been passing through the door  then breaks - but not at the door, but rather at the 90 segment two segments past the door.

The oxygen in the pipe is 97.2 degrees.  again, regardless of what I make the pipe out of it breaks, and always at the same spot.

I used to use this design, even in stacks with no heat issues at all.

I am going to have to revert to and open type electrolyzer setup and hope the pipes don't overheat - but I don't understand why they are overheating now in the first place.

Is anyone seeing anything similar to this?

Hi all,

I will post a bug report with a save.

To answer specific questions.  Degrees in Fahrenheit;  +97.2 was the temp of the oxygen that caused a heat breakage in the pipes as mentioned before.  all gas, all the time.  I am not that sophisticated in my game play yet.

Going through a wall with the hydrogen is 100% breakage.

Going through a door with hydrogen 0% breakage.

Going through door oxygen 0% breakage UNLESS I am also passing the hydrogen through the same door, then heat breakage on teh oxygen pipe occurs 2-3 pipe segments after it has passed through the door.

Yeah posting save game could solve the issue right away

Piping on the right all the way to electrolyzers.

They used to break then I replaced them with abyssalite.

Do you like the save btw? :D poor frankie died while digging.

Its because they turned to solid ice and if stuff changes being state the pipes will break

Also watch out you are cooling co2 almost at the condensation point -42C this will break pipes too

I know, but some of the pipes were not at <0c

Most perfect base of all times! Clear to see, that you learned every bits and bytes from grandmaster @Lifegrow
Was a hard way, to perfection i bet, but you got it!

Nah, It's a mix of @CrypticFox Volx @GrindThisGame and @Lifegrow with a bit of my touch :D

It's not still perfect, I wish that natural gas geyser wasn't there so I could make a perfect cube with the base.

It is good enough though:
